I SAT AT THE KITCHEN ISLAND as I watched everyone converse with one another. After Kova's pool party, I ended up coming down here for today. Since I was a baby, everyone in the family always came out for this specific holiday just to hang with the family. I wasn't going to let what my dad did affect that.
I been here since yesterday, I said hey and that was it. I just didn't want to be disrespectful and not say anything while coming into the house. My mom seemed hurt, I guess she was expecting for me to catch her up on everything, but nah. Even though my dad is the one that made me feel unwanted, I felt like that with my mom. I felt like a bother and I really hated feeling like that.
Honestly, I needed my mom. It sucked not talking to her as much as I use to. As much as I didn't like telling my business to anyone, I somehow always felt like telling her everything. My momma was ny best friend— my everything.
Hearing the sound of fireworks, I realized that no one was in the house, but my grandma. She was washing the dishes while looking out the window.
Nonetheless, I got up and started getting the dishes off the table. People were nasty like why couldn't you get your own shit up? smh.
"Grandma I got it." I told her and she looked at me. "Go sit down, I got it."
"True, baby." She sighed drying her hands off with a paper towel before getting a chair and pulling it closer to the sink. She sat down and cleared her throat so I knew she was about to talk. Tuh, let me get ready 'cause chileeee....
"Why you not talking to your mom? I understand why you not talking to your dad, but why not your mom? When your dad is at work and I'm in the living room watching the news, she sits up in her room and cry. Sometimes she screams and have a whole panic attack because you aren't conversating with her. She misses you, True and I'm pretty damn sure she tells you that. She has nothing to do with what your dad has done."
