You and team 7 had been walking for about 2hrs and everyone stayed quiet. It was quite calming walking through the trees and nature, the sound of birds chirping coming and going.
Everything was calm until Sasuke and Naruto suddenly stopped moving. You, Sakura, kakashi and the old man slowed down, coming to a stop.
"Someone's watching us." Sasuke whispered.
Suddenly two chains with spikes came rushing out of the bushes and wrapped around Kakashi Sensei. Blood spewed everywhere.
You screamed, ears ringing and vision going black. "Sakura, Guard y/n and the bridge builder!" Sasuke quickly spit out, charging after the attacker with Naruto not far behind.
"Y/n, are you alright!?" Sakura said whilst staring at your collapsed, unconscious frame. " I thought you guys were ninja, but you can't even stay conscious to battle an enemy!" The bridge builder spit out, chuckling at your unconscious frame.
"OH SHUT UP, WILL YOU!?"
"It's not like you have any fighting skills anyway, old man", Sakura was upset hearing the bridge builder practically bully you.
Naruto and Sasuke continued battling the attacker, barely dodging his attacks.
You started to groan, earning the attention of Sakura. "Y/n!" , Your eyes fluttered open, squinting at the harsh sunlight.
You sat up, grabbing Sakura's leg without thinking about what you were doing. Sakura blushed but quickly shook it off, your safety was more important right now.
Just as you stood up, the attacker charged towards you, Sakura and the old man.
"Run!" Sakura shouted to the bridge builder. He jumped behind a tree and hid himself very poorly. Sakura swiftly wrapped you in her arms, hunched over you to protect you from the expected attack.
She held you close, squeezing you tightly. You blushed and buried your face into her chest, still a bit out of it from passing out.
You guys waited, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 then 4, the attack never hitting you.
"Are you two alright?" Kakashi spoke, looking down at the two of you, the attacker unconscious under his arm.
"K-kakashi Sensei, you're ok!?"
"I'm quite alright, but I wouldn't say the same about y/n"
Sakura looked down at your vulnerable, shaking frame.
"Y/n...", Sakura frowned, saddened by your condition.
"I'm...ok" you spoke quietly
"Sakura, I'll take her" Sasuke spoke, with a small hint of worry in his voice.
"Ok"
Sakura released her grip on you and allowed Sasuke to pick you up.
Everyone except the bridge builder looked towards Kakashi as he spoke,
"you never told us you were wanted/ being followed. We cannot continue this mission, it is a higher rank than we were assigned. These young genin are not suited for this. You lied about the mission's details so you didn't have to pay more, am I right?"
The bridge builder looked away.
"But Kakashi Sensei, a mission is a mission, we must complete it and protect this old geizure!" Naruto yelled.
"Naru-"
" Don't tell me your abandoning this mission just because it's harder than you thought it would be!?"
"Fine" kakashi said, giving up on this argument, "we will continue "
