I pulled up to Chris' mama house and I see my babies outside playing with their lil cousin, Niko. Dani sees me pull up so she runs to the car window...
"Mommy! MOMMY! Did you hear??" she asks eagerly.
"What baby?" I ask giggling at her.
"Daddies out of jail!!!" She says.
My face froze. My body shut down. But I felt the adrenaline rush. My skin started to crawl. I felt nauseous asf.
"Mommy? Aren't you happy? I know you missed daddy!!" She says.
"Yes baby, I'm happy your daddies home." I lied straight through my d*mn teeth.
I'm a firm believer in not lying to kids, but aww man. this? THIS. was unacceptable.
"Okay baby, mommies going to come in and speak with grandma for a minute. Go make sure your sisters are ready for the Thanksgiving party." I tell her.
"Yes mama." Dani says and runs back in to her little sisters.
I get out my car and I lock my doors. Chris' mama greets me at the door.
"Hey Lori, come on in baby." She says with a calm voice. I think she could tell that i was on pins and needles, but I walked in with a fake smile plastered on my face. For the kids ofcourse.
"Hey mama." I reply back.
"Take a seat, sweetheart. I know you heard the news. You need some water? Can I get you anything?" She asks, trying to ease the mood. We sat down in the kitchen.
"What can I do? I already know what he wants when he gets out. I don't want anything to happen to Chris...or my babies. I knew the time was coming. I should have been mentally preparing myself for this. I know-"
"Woah...slow down, Lori. You're going to hurt yourself thinking so hard. I'll tell you what you need to do. Have you eaten today?" Mama says.
"Yes ma'am. I stopped by Chick-fil-a before I came." I replied.
"Alright, well first you need to tell Chris. It will be good for him to know. He can help protect you guys. Now as for DD, you can't keep her away from her father. She needs a bond with him. She needs to know him. Not what he used to do, but HIM. He could be a changed man when he comes home. You all need to co-parent. One of y'all need to check in with one another. If he doesn't want to be in the child's life, then fine. We won't force. Chris would be more than happy to take in Dani. He loves YOU and those girls." She explains to me.
Ms. Joyce always knows just what to say. I don't know where my life would have been without her. LITERALLY. Everyone took me in when I was in a COLD SPACE. Tears start to spill from my eyes just thinking about it.
"Okay mama, thank you...for everything. I needed that. I just get so worried." I tell her.
"And you got to STOP that. You have 3 kids. You have to be strong. You've got a strong support system." She reassures me.
"Yes ma'am. I should get going. They have a Thanksgiving party. I'm going go see if they're ready.", I say.
I walk in the back and see my beautiful girls!!😍

When I see my babies... I realize how similar they are to their fathers. Dani wearing the chains and jewelry like her dad, Charlotte with her silliness and style, and Cameron's ATTITUDE. I cant believe this girl didn't like the clothes that Dani picked out for her.
I uploaded the pictures to my instagram. My girls are BEAUTIFUL😍.
