A Heartbreaking Call

All seven of us spent almost three hours messing around, walking, and having countless conversations at the beach. It was one of the most relaxing and fun days that I'd had in a long time.

We all decided to pack up and head out for lunch, a place called Seaside by the Pier. Their menu seemed to have a lot of variety and I'm a tad bit on the picky side.

When we pulled up outside, the place didn't seem too busy, so we walked right in and sat down.

I was next to Zach, and across from Corbyn so I knew this would be an eventful lunch date. Zach knew how to keep everyone on their toes, but thankfully, everyone was more so focused on Jonah and Lu who seemed to be all loved up.

"So, how did this come about so quickly?" Jack mentioned what everyone had to have been thinking.

"Some flames just spark fast...and ours did." Jonah shrugged, linking his fingers with Lu over the table. I rolled my eyes in disgust, but I was secretly just as excited as she was. She deserved someone that would be crazy for her.

"So have y'all kissed yet or?" Daniel broke the awkward silence making everyone cackle except for Lucia who had a bright red blush coating her cheeks.

"No, I'm waiting for the right moment" Jonah was still so calm, cool, and collected. I was never sure how he managed to keep that persona.

"I don't wanna rush this either, I always find relationships that are based on lust and I end up getting fucked over...emotionally and physically." Lucia was opening up, and I was proud of her. I know how guarded she can be.

When everyone broke into their own little conversations, I glanced across the table at him. His bright blue eyes were gently fixated on me. I couldn't tell you how long he'd been looking at me that way but it was hot.

"Take a picture it lasts longer" I giggled at him, but his eyes didn't falter.

"I can't help it Kam" He shook his head with a smile across his face.

"What?" I wanted to act dumb, because I wanted him to say it. Exactly what he was feeling. I wanted to have what Lucia and Jonah did, but I also didn't wanna jump into anything too quickly either.

"I catch myself looking at you all the damn time...like it might be creepy but you're seriously so fucking beautiful." He dumped his entire heart on a platter right in front of me, and it was insane to me that it had only be 2 days that we'd known one another. I felt like I'd known him for years.

"You're gonna make me all nervous..." I said, looking down at the rings on my fingers to tame my anxiety as best as I could.

"Don't be nervous, it's a good thing right?" Now he was questioning if he'd said too much, I could see it behind his piercing blue eyes.

"It's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me Corbyn, you just make me all nervous inside." I couldn't believe myself, telling a boy that I was into him. Who was this version of Kamri?

Our intimate conversation was interrupted by the food delivered to the table, but I wasn't mad. I was absolutely starving.

Fast forward to the end of the meal, the guys had actually asked us if we wanted to go back to Jack's for awhile? They even insinuated a sleepover if people got too drunk, but I knew I'd be the least intoxicated one there.

By the time we got to Jack's house it was almost 7, and the guys wanted to play a round of Jenga. It was like the normal game, but each block had a dare on it. So each time you pulled one out, you had to perform the dare you were given.

I was desperately hoping that nobody dared the two of us to kiss because if it did happen, I would want it to be special. Not in the middle of a drunk game full of pointless dares.
