Katherine's P.O.V.

I feel incrredibly lucky right now as I'm driving down the highway in a cop car. I know what you must be thinking, how can being in a cop car ever be a good thing, but for me it was. I'm not in any trouble, I happen to be doing an internship for college, which involves me being a partner with an actual cop for a couple of months.

I had almost always known I wanted to help people all of my life, ever since I was little and had no one to help me. I figured being a cop was a good way to fufil my dream and get paid at the same time, hance why I'm now in a police car.

Being an intern and getting actual job experience was my final step before I graduated college. I'm only 19, one of the youngest people in my grade, because I had skipped several years of schooling. It wasn't necessarily because I was smart, but because I desperatly wanted to get out of my hellhole of a life and be on my own, completely dependent on myself with no chance of anyone ever hurting me again.

I'm quite stubbern and smart due to my Dutch and Irish roots, or at least that's what my mom tells me, or used to tell me, before she.....

"Hey Kat you seing this?" asked the cop I was partnering with, named Joe.

I looked out over the front of the dashboard, being torn from my deep thoughts, for which I was greatful, I didnt want my mind wandering down that dark path that only led to sadness. Looking up along the road, I saw this old orange and yellow van that looked like it had been taken right out from the 70's, slowly creeping down the highway well under the speed limit.

It was probably just some old grandma or something being careful on the road, but I knew Joe would stop this person and give them a ticket, he took his job very seriously, I mean VERY seriously. If it was me I probably would have just ignored it and moved on, I mean they weren't bothering anyone, but not Joe. He turned on the car's lights and sirens signaling the car to pull over, and as the car slowed and we got closer, I saw several passengers in the car. Ok so maybe this wasn't some old grandma after all.

The van came to a complete stop on the side of the road and we pulled over about 20 yards behind it, and stopped.

Joe looked over at me, "Are you ready to learn how to be a police officer Kat?"

"Yes!" I answered with an excited grin, ready to finally experience what it was like to be a cop.

We climbed out of the car and walked over to the driver's window, with me straightening out my uniform making sure I looked presentable, causing me to fall behind Joe. I couldn't even believe when the station gave it to me this morning, I didnt think I would get one, me just being an intern and all, but I did. I was very proud to wear it and I looked pretty damn great in it, if I say so myself. Since all I had to do was put in some drive time and shadow Joe for a while before I became an official cop, I believe that the station already thought as me of one of their own.

The driver had rolled down his window and was now talking to Joe as I strolled up, his eyes moving to mine and I gasped in shock. The driver wasn't an old lady, no defineitly not, it was actually a guy about my age who was really hot, and... oh yeah, he was none other than Louis Tomlinson from the famous boyband, One Direction. Yeah, he was definetly not an old grandma, but he sure did drive like one.

"Umm Joe can I talk to you for a second?" I asked as I grabbed his arm and dragged him away before he even had a chance to say yes.

"What are you doing Kat, what's wrong," he quickly said.

"Do you know who that is?!" I shouted in an excited whisper.

"No, should I? They just look like some teenage boys to me," He said cluelessly.
