(clays pov)

it was 8am and clay was on his way to school to find out if he was aloud back in school, before the summer holidays, clays behaviour got bad causing his teachers a lot of problems but he didn't care since he was getting popular.

he arrived at school and went through the reception since he was late, he walked right into the principals office and took a seat.

principal williams looked into clays emerald green eyes and he spoke with a smile— "hello clay, welcome back." .

clay wanted to stay in this school, he let his behaviour get bad which he regretted, he wanted everything go back to the way there were before all of this. "hi principal williams"

the principal continued "clay, due to the incidents that happened last year.." referring to his behaviour.  "im not happy about that but i've thought about it and i'd like to keep you in school— this is your last chance, if you get in anymore trouble then your out of this school, do you understand?"

he sat up strait and replied "yes sir, i understand." clay was excused from the office and made his way to his first class..

clay entered his first class, it was science so he wasn't bothered much. as soon as clay entered all eyes landed on him.

miss newman spoke "welcome back clay, you may take a seat next to nick"

nick smiled— his best friend was back at school and they got to sit next to each other. clay walked up to nick and shot him a smile, he sat down next to him. nick was the first one to speak "dude, your back!"

clay responded, sounding more happy than usual "yes bro i'm back at school but i've been told i got one last chance"

nick was glad he was back, but deep down he knew clay would most likely fuck up this last chance.

(george and karl's pov)

george was sitting at the other end of the classroom with his twin brother, karl. as clay walked into the classroom, george was glad to see him but he felt a sudden wave of sadness since it would be awkward at lunch time now.

karl glanced over to george who looked okay but karl knew he wasn't. he kept wondering if george was okay— he hadn't seen clay since there breakup.

soon after, clay took his seat at the back of the classroom— karl and george continued there convocations and both acted like nothing happened. they both occasionally glanced at clay, something seemed off about him.

(no one's pov)

nick knew him better than anyone else which was mainly because they knew each other since birth but also because clay had only recently been opening up to nick.

clay felt like he had no one else to talk to after george and his break up. karl was george's twin so he couldn't open up to him incase he told george and alex's cousin recently passed so he felt bad dumping all his problems on him. this meant he only had one last person to tell this all too, nick.

after science ended they all had a free period which meant they could just go off school campus for the hour, clay had to go home since he forgot his football kit for his after school training. he was the star player after all.

karl said something about george wanting  to talk to him. clay didn't want anything to be awkward between them this year so he decided he would put george first and talk to him.

nick and karl sat down at an empty table and started talking about what excuses alex has probably used to stay off school today. alex had one of the worst attendances in the whole school so they wasn't too shocked that he stayed off school AGAIN.

clay and george walked around school in awkward silent until clay spoke first "so.. what did you need to talk to me about?"

george let out a breathe that he didn't know he was holding till now. "there's a party on friday, i don't want it to be awkward so if your gonna go then ill stay at home or something because i don't want to ruin it" he sighed.

clay continued "no you just go, it won't be awkward because we're fine..right?"

it took george a minute to reply, he kept it short and simple.. "right." they both had a small conversation on there way back to nick and karl.

clay said his goodbyes to everyone— he left the school building and headed to his car.

after clay left the building everyone else sat at a table, surprisingly alex had actually turned up to school, he just ended up very late. alex took a seat with everyone else and he assumed clay had been kicked out of school until nick told him that clay was back and he just left campus for free period. alex and clay had a good bond so he was happy that he would be back this year.

every time clays name was mentioned george stayed quiet until alex asked "george, what's happening with you and clay now he's back?"

george seemed very confused at this since he didn't even know what they were, but he remembered clay said they was fine so he just answered "yeah i think me and clay are alright, not too much going on".

everyone just took that as there answer and chose not too mention clay until he was back.

around an hour later clay returned, he had a football jersey stuffed in his bag which he forgot to close. he walked to the table everyone was sat at, shocked to see alex finally in school "alex, hey man!!"

alex stood up saying "clayy your finally back dude!"

clays face had this beautiful smile which could light up a whole room. he smiled and replied "yes i am, i'm back!" he took a seat next to nick and started talking.

the week went pretty quick and it was friday. the party was today and he would see george for sure now. deep down they both missed each other but didn't give it too much thought.

clay was thinking about staying home but alex and nick had convinced him to go while karl convinced george to go.. the three of them had a plan to get george and clay back together secretly and if they both turned up to the party, there plan would surely work but it was too soon so they had to make sure george and clay would at least become friends again if they wouldn't date.
