I'm woken by the sound of Trilly yelling for us to get up.
Yup, 'cause this is how I want my last day of peace to start. I swear, if I could kill her I would.
I also hear Azul talking back at her. That piqued my curiosity, and I got out of bed and peeked out of my room.
"Those tributes need to get out of bed, eat, and get ready for the Games," Trilly was saying, her usually pretty face twisted with frustration.
"This is their last day of society," Azul said. "Please just let them enjoy it."
"They are tributes, and they should be out in the arena," she hissed.
I smile. Watching him stand up to bullies was strangely entertaining. I couldn't help but laugh at this situation.
"He can say anything he wants, you don't control anyone or anything." I finished laughing as I said this.
Trilly glared at me and pushed Azul away gently. "Control your tongue, young lady."
Azul set a hand on the back of her neck. "Now, Trilly. We wouldn't want anyone to get hurt."
"Peacekeepers!" she cried.
He let go of her and turned as the white-uniformed soldiers came in.
"What are they gonna do? He was just making sure that no one would get hurt. He was just protecting you from me." I said the last part to myself.
"Arrest him," Trilly snapped, turning around and pointing at the stylist. "Arrest him for... for... I don't know... Assault? Attempted harassment? Just—Just arrest him!"
Azul clasped his hands behind his back. The Peacekeepers did not move.
"Arrest him!" she snapped.
"We can't arrest someone for no reason," one of the Peacekeepers said. "Unless you can give us an actual reason, we won't arrest him."
Trilly glanced over at him with a sly look. "Oh, I know what you can arrest him for."
"Well, Trilly," Azul said, quickly forming a fake smile. "I believe it's time for you to leave."
"I am not leaving," she snapped, poking Azul's sternum. I noticed a few rings on her fingers and stepped into the hallway to get a better look.
"Please, dear," Azul said, grabbing her wrist. "Let's not have a tantrum."
"What the..." I said without realizing.
"Mako, is something wrong?" Azul said, slightly turning his head towards me.
I look between the two and narrow my gaze. "What's going on?"
"Everything," Trilly said hotly. "If Azul had never decided to go off and... and... I don't know, do his whole... his whole rev—"
Azul suddenly swooped down and kissed her to shut her up. The Peacekeepers cleared their throats and left.
I stared in complete shock.
"I'm sorry. What the heck did I just witness? I feel like I need to bleach my eyes and memories."
Trilly leaned back after a few moments. "I don't like it when you do that."
"I needed to shut you up somehow," he replied.
I kicked Terrek's door. "Wake up and see these two idiots."
Terrek opened his door and looked at me tiredly.
"I need someone else to confirm what I just witnessed isn't real. Please tell me I'm just going crazy. Please."
