I awoke to the Feast being announced.
Supplies, a chance to meet up with Terrek, but also a huge chance of death. With my leg still injured I wouldn't be able to run fast enough to get away if I got attacked.
It's not worth it, Sky said.
I know.
But as I sat there, I got more and more restless. Maybe I didn't have to go out to the Cornucopia, but maybe I could watch and see who was left.
It's very, very risky, the voice warned.
I know... But I haven't seen anyone in so long. I... I need to make sure Terrek is okay, and if anyone else is, too. Maybe I can see Evan or Carter.
Yeah, but you could also get killed, ruining both Azul's and Terrek's plans. You really want to risk that? Just to see if someone, whose face hasn't appeared in the sky yet, might I remind you, is alive?
Yes? No? I don't know! I just want to make sure that they're okay.
They haven't died yet, they should be fine. Besides, like you said earlier, you're in no condition to be running around.
I pondered my options for a moment, then said, They'll be too caught up in fighting each other and getting their stuff and running that if I hide, they'll never notice me. I can climb up in a tree and watch, wait for everyone to disperse, then go back.
Sky didn't respond. Maybe I've finally shut them up.
I decided that I can get some food on the way back and started to head for the center. It was a peaceful trip, thankfully, and I could see the Cornucopia now. I was the first to arrive.
I found a good climbing tree and a vantage point, then watched the Feast fold out in front of me.
I saw Noah run out in the middle of the open field. I watched as he fell to his knees for some reason.
Sky spoke up again. He probably got shot or something.
Maybe, but wouldn't there be more blood if he did?
Didn't say it had to be an arrow.
I shugged at that and continued watching from my spot in the tree.
A few moments later, Terrek raced out to the Cornucopia. He grabbed his pack and looked around frantically, then started heading in my direction.
Distantly, I can hear a cannon shot go off, but I can't pay it any attention. I can catch up to Terrek again! Maybe slap him, then ask him where he went and why he left me.
I started climbing down from my spot.
Are you an idiot? Someone could be watching him and could catch you!
Yeah, but I could also catch up to Terrek which means I wouldn't have to worry about him anymore since I'll know he's okay!
I reached the bottom of the tree and started running. Well, more like speed walking with my leg, towarded the direction Terrek had gone.
He glanced behind himself. Panic flashed in his dark gaze before he put on an extra burst of speed.
"Terrek!" I shout, forcing myself to go faster. "Wait!"
I could tell he couldn't hear me. He thought someone was chasing him to kill him.
I tripped over a stupid branch and pain shot through both my leg and arm. I got one last glance at him before he disappeared.
