The Blizzard In Our Hearts[Capitano x f!reader]

At noon everyone prepared to set out for the capital. The sky was relatively clear which was ideal for visibility for trekking across the tundra.
You were busy assisting Anita with the packing of rations into small backpacks for easier transport. "Say, Y/n. Why were you so quick to help us? I mean most others from outside the Fatui despise us..."

You directed your gaze to Anita, a puzzled expression growing on your face.

" Oh! I'm not trying to say that you might have an ulterior motive behind all this but quite the contrary in fact! Its a nice change of pace from this past month. We couldn't even set up camp for a day before being attacked by the soldiers of Natlan or that damn traveler and their floating pest." Anita informed. " Thank you for being a kindhearted individual "

Taken aback by her sudden gratitude, you stumble over your words. "Well all I did was the bare minimum though. Surely it isn't that big of a deal..."

"Thats where your wrong!!" Anita debated loudly. "Without your help many of us would have perished from the cold, starvation or many other causes!"
Anita was now shaking your shoulders back and forth violently and she spoke.

"Pleeeaaaseee stoooooOOOooppp" you groaned as you became dizzy from being dragged back and forth.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

Both of you halt as you turn to see Conrad standing at the tents entrance with his sacrificial blade in hand. He was wearing a stern expression.

"If ye two don't stop dawdling, you'll be punished for neglecting your duties." He stated bluntly.

"BUT-" Anita started

"Don't even start with that." Conrad interrupted.

As the two bantered, you were the only one to notice a towering shadow grow behind the oblivious pyro agent. Elbowing Anita, you signalled her to stop speaking. She immediately stiffened up when she realised who was behind Conrad.

"HAH! Not so energetic now I see! Wheres your confidence gone huh?" He teased, still unaware of the presence behind him. " And here i thou-"

*AHEM*

Conrad gulped loudly as he turned to see Capitano towering over him. "C-Captain! W-when did y-you get here?" He fumbled, petrified.

Ignoring the blundering mess that was Conrad, Capitano stepped into the tent and stopped infront of you.
"Y/n, I would like a word. Alone."
With that he turned to Anita who took it as her sign to leave. On her way out she grabbed Conrad by the hood and dragged him away.

"I was told that you wished to join us in the Fatui." He stated, staring down at you. "Is this true?"

"Indeed. As I have nowhere to return to, I think there would be nothing to lose in joining the Fatui." You addressed, standing confidently as you spoke
"Whatever it may be" you added quietly.

"You can join if you wish but I will warn you now of the tedious trials you have to face in training once we return to the Capital. You may come to regret your choice so decide wisely." Capitano replied. With that he reached into his pocket and grabbed a small monochrome insignia. Holding it out infront of you he spoke. "Take it if you wish to join. If not then leave and never come back."

You stared at the insignia for a moment before deciding to take it. Looking up at his tall stature, you smirked confidently and responded. " I'm sure I'll ace those trials no sweat. "

Capitano let out a low chuckle as he turned to leave the tent. " you've got guts, i like that." And with that he was gone.

Looking down in your hand you smile to yourself while you inspected the insignia. Placing the pin on your shirt, you left the tent with the last of the bags  to continue packing for the upcoming journey.

Sorry for not posting for ages, I have been busy with the upcoming exams in school and I haven't been feeling that well.
