The group didn't expect after the party that they'd be at the hospital. Jungwon had got into an accident just minutes after leaving Jake and Jay's house. It brought shock to everyone- mostly due to how careful the younger was.

They were silent the entire time in the hospital waiting room. Heeseung looked like he just saw a ghost, and Jay was anxiously staring at the emergency room door, waiting. Apparently, Jungwon had to get some stitches and needed to get some surgery done- they didn't know why though. All they know is that the doctors promised Heeseung they'll tell him why he needed the surgery when- and if- they succeeded.

It all came so quickly to them. Hours somehow felt like minutes as they waited. Before they knew it, the doctor that was operating on Jungwon walked out. Heeseung stood up from his seat, "Is my brother alright? What was the surgery for?" The doctor gestured for him to calm down, to which he did within a matter of seconds.

"He's alright now. He is in stable condition, but he is in a coma at the moment. We're not sure when he'll wake up.. And the surgery.." The doctors voice trailed off, noticing how many of them there are. "May I speak to you privately? It's going to be a family matter at this moment." Heeseung looked back at the group before nodding and following the doctor into the emergency room hallway, leaving the other five to wonder what the doctor needed to announce.

They stayed quiet for a while before Niki tried to lighten the mood, "I mean, he said that hyung is in stable condition right now.. So, at least that's something.. Right?" They all nodded.

"It just.. All came too quickly.. One moment we were all fine, now.. this? It's just so much.." Jake added. "Yeah, especially after finals- ow.. sorry, wrong time." Sunghoon mentioned before getting slightly elbowed in the ribs by Jake.

Jay was silent the entire time. He was clearly shaken up by everything. Sunoo tried his best to look on the bright side of things, but he was also shocked.

Heeseung walked back to the group with a sullen expression. "Well? What happened?" They asked in unison. Heeseung hesitated, "It's nothing.. Family matter."

They fell silent for the hundred time, "It was that bad..?" Sunoo asked, fidgeting with his hands. Heeseung nodded. "I'll tell you guys when he wakes up."

When the day that Jungwon finally woke up arrived, it had been ten months since he fell into the coma. Jay had spent most of his time by Jungwon's side, so when the younger didn't remember him, they all knew something was wrong.

"Jungwon had the hanahaki disease. That's why he had to get surgery. Sunflowers were blocking his airways." Heeseung admitted. Jake looked at Jay who had a blank expression. "How.. How long did he have it for?" Sunghoon asked.

"They said he'd at least had it for a good three months. He could've died if he didn't get surgery within the next week." Heeseung said, staring at the floor with his arms crossed before glaring at Jay again.

"It is said that if a person with hanahaki disease gets surgery, they would forget the person that gave them the disease in the first place.."

They finally pieced it together. Jay was the reason he got it in the first place.

Jay tried to apologize to Heeseung, but he didn't accept it and said that he won't be able to see Jungwon again due to how much he hurt him.

But he liked him back? How did this happen? Jake thought on the ride back to his and Jay's house with the others. When they all got inside, Jay face planted onto the couch. Jake groaned, "Hoon, can you help me pry Jay's shoes off?" Sunghoon nodded and came to the rescue, taking off Jay's left shoe while Jake took his right shoe off.

It wasn't until a few minutes later did Jake realize something; If I'm not too careful around Sunghoon.. I might get the hanahaki disease too. Jake thought to himself. He loved Sunghoon, but his love was basically unrequited.

Jake was conflicted, and Sunghoon noticed, "You alright?" The duo were alone and Jake was in deep thought for a while. Jake nodded, "I'm fine, just thinking.. That's all.." Sunghoon only nodded.

There was three options for Jake; either get hanahaki and die, get hanahaki, receive surgery and forget Sunghoon, or try and fall out of love with Sunghoon- all options were difficult for Jake. Of course, there was an option of courting Sunghoon, but it'd be impossible.

Either way, all paths meant he would lose Sunghoon somehow- and that's what he didn't want. Jake sighed to himself, slumping on the kitchen table, hitting his head a few times before he felt something squishy protecting his forehead from the hardwood.

He looked up and noticed it was Sunghoon's palm. The ice prince looked at Jake, "Are you trying to get brain damage or something? Sorry, but that spot is already taken in the group." Jake slapped Sunghoon in the shoulder, earning an inaudible ow from him, "Not funny.." Sunghoon shrugged, "But seriously, are you alright? You've been off since we got back from the hospital."

Jake nodded, "I'm fine, seriously." Sunghoon gave him an unsure look, but nodded once more.

A little while later, Jake, Sunghoon, Niki and Sunoo found multiple ways for Jungwon to remember Jay. While Jay was looking at the ways to get Jungwon to remember him, Jake went into the hallway and searched up "How to avoid the hanahaki disease"

Sadly, none of the results were helpful. Most said to just accept your fate, while others said to simply avoid that person at all costs and find reasons to hate them. Jake scoffed, "Yeah.. Never mind.. I'll just have to walk on eggshells.." He sighed and shut his phone off.

*-*-*-*-*

Days passed, and the group- besides the siblings- have been sneaking Jay into the hospital. Besides that, Jake had been acting the same towards Sunghoon. He tried his best to push his feelings away, but it was harder than he thought.

Every single day, after Sunghoon turns down another girls confession, he somehow immediately finds Jake. He was like a clingy penguin- but a cute one that Jake didn't want to shake off.

"Ikeu Ikeu." Sunghoon joked. That was one of Jake's many nicknames from Sunghoon. Jake rolled his eyes, trying his best not to blush.

You can't, Jake.. You can't fall in love- Although you already have- but thats besides the point.. You need to be careful- and don't die trying.
