Cruchie was walking back to the lodge
When he saw a couple holding hands.
Cruchie always loved how people showed their love for everyone to see, but he hated that everyone else gets to
And he can't.

People already looked at him weird because of his cruch ,so imagine what they would say if a boy was holding his hand.

It always made cruchie feel bad, and it didn't fail today.
So it's no surprise that he was sad for the rest of his walk to the lodge.

When cruchie walked through the door of the lodge ,everyone could see that he was upset.
His head down, his eyes sad,and just not being his normal self.

Race spoke first, "Kid, you ok," he says, walking up to cruchie.

Cruchie looked up. "wha- ye, yes, it's-I'm alright," he stuttered

Jack looked up, hearing the conversation.

"Cruch, are ya sure bout that?" Jack asks

"I'm fine, Jack," cruchie says, annoyance in his voice

"What's going o-"

" Jack,I'm fine, god," cruchie shouts, walking to the ladder to go to the roof.

All the newsies look Jack's way
"What the hell just happened?" Race asks, confused
"What did you doooooooo" spot says from where he was lying on race's bed.

"I-I don't know, I don't think I did anything wrong," Jack thinks for a second.

"I should probably go check on him," Jack says, standing up and going to the ladder .

Cruchie sat on the roof with his head in his hands, thinking about what had just happened.

Why did he do that? Why did he shout at Jack? He was just trying to help, and he had to go and shout at him.

He was such a bad boyfriend. he didn't even know why he got upset. Of course, seeing that made him a little upset, but he always let it fade off , so why did he get so upset?

"You alright?" his thinking was cut off by Jack's voice

Cruchie looked up, tears falling down his face, " Ye ,I'm ok," cruchie says in a not so reassuring voice

"No, you're not charile . What's going on?" Jack is the only person who calls cruchie by his real name he doesn't do it all the time only when he needs to.

Jack sits down next to cruchie ,waiting to hear what's wrong.

"I-i'm sorry, J-Jack," cruchie stuttered his head down to the floor, tears flowing out of the boys eyes.

"What for cruch?" Jack says, wrapping his arms around the shorter of the two to try to comfort him.

Cruchie shakes his head, looking up at Jack

"Because I shouted at you just because I was upset , I don't know why, but I did, and I'm so sorry," cruchie says ,more tears falling down his checks

Jack takes his hand up to cruchies face and starts to wipe his tears Away "hey, it's ok , it's alright ok" Jack says, wiping away more tears.
"Now tell me what's making you so upset."

Hearing this, cruchie pulled away from Jack and sighed.

"I never normally get so upset about this, but today I was walking home when I saw a couple holding hands and of course I love that people can show their love but it always makes me a bit upset, but today it made me really sad and I don't know why" cruchie says tears in his eyes.

jack was about to say something to comfort the boy sitting next to him, but cruchie stopped him.

"why am i not aloud to hold hands or show effection to the person i love, why am i not aloud to do that but its ok for other couples to without getting stared at " cruchie said ,a mix of anger and sadness in his voice.

Hearing this Jack takes cruchie hand in his "I know cruch it's crap and believe me if I could show how I feel about you infront of every person in the world I would but I'm afraid right now its not safe for us to do that"

"I know, but why, why Jack," cruchie says, crying more, well going to hide his face in Jack's chest.

"I'm not sure cruch sometimes what makes me feel better about it is to think that they are not ready for us yet and maybe that's not the truth but you know what I could not give less of a shit about that because all that matters is that l have you and maybe the outside world is not ready but when they are we will be there showing are love to the world but right now we have each other and that's all that matters." Says Jack.

'Thank you, Jack '

"Nothing to say thank you for cruchie," Jack says, kissing cruchie on the head.
