Y/n's POV
A lovely 13 hour flight over oceans and land was coming to an end. Conversation ceasing to exist as the plane began its descent towards the ground. My eyes were squinted shut while my right hand held onto Jaspers and my left gripped into the arm rest for dear life.
Once again the compact metal tin began to vigorously shake as it made its dive down towards the ground. My lungs closed off my airways as my breath became caught in my throat in fear. The sound of my heartbeat reverberated throughout my body becoming audible to not only my own ears but the two vampires sat next to me.
My lips were tightly bit shut in a desperate attempt to sustain the squeal of fear and the string of profanities which edged to escape.
It wasn't till the jolt of the plane's back side levelling out did I finally breathe again, the cut off circulation flowing slowly through my half dead body, once again bringing back its light glow of colour to my pale face, slowing the beating of my heart and carrying the oxygen to my lungs. If I had to rate the experience of flying for the first time I'd give the overall experience a 7.5 out of 10. Flying over the ocean and land, the views it brought, watching day and night slowly fade in and out of each other was truly beautiful, however turbulence ascending and descending were not on the top of my list of enjoyable moments during the flight.
Still though the company made up the not so enjoyable parts of the flight.
Once a flight attendant told us we were safe to exit the aircraft the three of us stood up, with Jasper leading our small group. Another flight attendant opened the door with a smile on her red painted lips.
"Thank you for flying with us. I hope you enjoy your stay." She said as we stepped out onto the descending staircase.
Almost instantly was I hit with a heavy stuffy heat. I had to cover my eyes with a hand while they adjusted to the New York sunlight. Once they had I looked around the airport we'd landed in taking in the views across the river to the tall buildings on the opposite side.
"It's so hot here." I comment stepping down the stairs and joining the covered from head to toe Alice and Jasper. I glanced at my skin and noticed the faint glow it was emitting.
I was brighter than usual.
I looked around and could see a few heads turning my way, eyes gawking at me. I shuffled uncomfortably.
"Here." Jasper said, placing a hat on my head. "It'll help hide the faint glow coming from you, try to keep your hands in your pockets." I nodded at his advice and shoved my hands into my pockets.
"I've never "glowed" this much before." I say in a hushed voice as we made our way across the grounds towards security.
"It's the difference in climate. Don't worry we'll make sure no one notices you." Alice chimes with a sweet smile as she links her arm around mine.
I felt that tingling sensation course through me again that I was only able to manage a nod in response.
"So where do we go from here?" I asked looking at Jasper who stood on my other side, his hand on my lower back causing a jolt to run up it.
"To a woodland area in the mountains." Jasper answers. "We'll rent a car and head straight there."
I nod allowing Jasper and Alice to lead me through the airport. We cleared security and I had to remove my white jacket as the buckle on the belt was metal. Sun shone through the floor to ceiling open windows meaning my exposed arms, hands, chest, neck and face emitted a light glow.
The security guard couldn't stop gawking at my physique and skin as I passed through the body metal detector. Once I was cleared Jasper was quick to hand me my jacket and place it over my shoulders.
