Before she knew it, she was now walking to her new school, alone, like the independent girl she is.

Despite going to the same school as the host's son, she was not being guided to school like the way his mother had insisted during the family meeting.

By the time she had woken up from her deep sleep, she was informed Riki had already left the house ages ago.

Reason? Because he had basketball practice.

That she respected, for she cannot imagine waking up at 6am and already exercising.

Maybe that was one reason why he was so tall.

Unfortunately for her, Emiko had taken the wrong subway which resulted in her being lost. This delayed her anticipated travel time.

But fortunately, she made it just as the teacher was closing the school entrance gate. It also benefited her as she was able to ask where the office was as she needed to collect her timetable and other essentials.

Feeling nervous due to her late arrival, she was about to knock on the opened door when someone had already told the teacher that someone was at the door.

"Ah! You must be Emiko!" The teacher, which the timetable had labeled as Miss Cho, smiled enthusiastically as she gestured the new girl to walk in.

Now that all the attention was on her, her heart pounded like a drum. She only smiled after turning around the face the class of students, all looking at her with curiosity.

"Emiko will be joining this class from now on. Please be nice to her and show her around. She is from Japan and oh- we have two Japanese students in our class don't we?" Judging from the way and things she spoke, she could tell she was a very chill and laidback teacher.

"Yes." A male had suddenly raised his hands up and upon seeing that hand, following his face, she was now relieved.

"Here." Another voice coming from outside spoke as he walked in confidently before stopping right beside her. "Oh hey Emiko."

"Riki you're late." The teacher sighed but dismissed it after processing the fact he knew her.

As the class was gradually minding their own business, Emiko quickly made her way to the boy who had raised his hands up that caused her to feel relieved.

"Hi Kaga!" She smiled in excitement.

"Hey Emi. Didn't think you'd be in my class. I was going to find you during break."

Kaga Hinode, was in fact, Emiko Hinode's biological second-cousin.
