Sam was lost. His world had fallen apart. He had tried hard to get accustomed to the new world, to the constant changes, and he was only able to do that because he had something that he could rely on to be same. Winter was the one person that he could rely on to be the same. Without her, he was alone, and he had no comfort
"Sam? Come on, you can't stay here all day. I mean, we don't even know for sure she's dead" Glenn said. Sam slowly turned to Glenn
"You think Carol's dead, right?" Sam asked
"Well- I.." Glenn couldn't respond
"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what took place" Sam said
"What do you mean?" Glenn asked
"T had already been bit, so while they were in the tombs, they ran into walkers. T sacrificed himself for Carol and Winter. He knew he wouldn't last long, and he's just that kind of guy. I know Winter well enough that she would've froze in horror at the sight of T. Her only way out would've been Carol. So if you believe Carol is dead, then so is she" Sam said. Glenn didn't know what to say. Sam stood up and went into the cell block. He then went into one of the cells and laid down. He didn't want to do anything. He had no reason to. Many hours passed, until it was dark. Sam hadn't moved. He hadn't cried. He made no sound. He was just there. The sound of footsteps approached
"Sam?" A feminine voice asked. Sam didn't respond
"Look, I know you're struggling right now, but you need to eat. You can't let this take you down" The voice said. Sam wasn't hungry
"She wouldn't want to see you like this. She'd want you to move on and live for her" She said. Sam sat up and looked at the person who the voice belonged to. It was Maggie. Sam felt enraged
"You just want me to move on? Let it go?" Sam asked. Maggie seemed shocked by the response
"I-I didn't mean it like th-" Maggie was cut off
"I'm supposed to get over it like I did Michael right?! I wouldn't be alone right now if it wasn't for you!" Sam yelled at her. Maggie was taken aback. Sam was fueled with anger and he directed it all at her. The sound of a baby crying could be heard as Glenn walked over
"Woah, what the hell is going on?" Glenn asked confused
"It was all her! It's all your fucking fault!" Sam yelled at her. Maggie had tears in her eyes, guilty of what had happened. At the time, Maggie didn't understand the full extent of what walkers truly were. She didn't know what she sent Michael out into until it was too late. The others had gathered
"Sam, I- I didn't know things were like this.. I would have never-" Maggie was cut off
"Michael is gone because of you! My big brother is gone because of you! And now Winter is dead and I'm alone!" Sam screamed
