"We should tell the police about this. Take a picture with your phone so we can show them," Jake instructed. I nodded my head and took a picture with my shaky hands.

"Maybe it was the murderer that called," Jake said as we went to sit on the couch.

"I really hope not, that would be horrible," I said shuddering.

Just then, the phone rang again. It was Charlie's number, again.

"I'm going to answer again. If it's the killer it's safer to let them know that there's only one person," I explained quickly before answering not giving Jake time to answer.

"Hello?" I asked before the other person could say anything.

"You are really pretty, you know," the voice whispered.

"Wha-" I was cut off by Jake screaming. I turned around quickly and saw him being strangled by someone dressed in all black, with a knife about to stab Jake. They were wearing a mask. Only their eyes were showing, and the color was a bright hazel.

I ran over and pulled the person back, making them get away from Jake. They turned to me, knife raised, and bought it down. I moved just in time.

Unfortunately, as I turned away I got stabbed in my stomach. I held my stomach, which slowed me down. Before they could stab me again, Jake hit the killer with a chair which made them fall.

I then started sprinting to the basement with the energy I had left, and Jake followed. We locked the door and got our phones out to call the police.

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!" The killer screamed as Jake dialed 911. The killer was male.

I bit my lip, trying to keep my tears in with my hand still on my stomach. I was losing blood, and my breath was becoming heavy. After a few seconds, the police station finally answered. The killer kept on trying to open the door while cursing us. Jake put the phone on speaker so I could hear what was happening.

"Hello this is 911 how can we help you?" Said the dispatcher. The door was rattling violently now.

"Um, our address is 847 Better street. My name is Jake and I and my sister are being attacked and someone is trying to murder us, please come quickly," Jake said in one breath.

"Okay Jake, can you stay with me?" The dispatcher asked.

"IF YOU DON'T OPEN THE DOOR I WILL SHOOT IT DOWN!" The killer screamed before Jake could answer. I grabbed a knife that was beside me and handed Jake a lamp. He took it and held it in a way to look like he was ready to attack.

"I think so," Jake replied.

"Okay, good. Are either you or your sister hurt?" The dispatcher asked over the screams of demand of the killer.

"Yes, my sister, Christiana got stabbed and she's losing blood but she's going to survive, the knife didn't go through her," Jake explained.

"Okay, make sure she's sitting down and wrap something around her and tighten it, this way Christiana will stop bleeding," the dispatcher explained quickly. Jake did what she told him to do with a piece of fabric, and I felt slightly better. A few minutes had passed with the dispatcher asking Jake questions about the killer.

Suddenly, the door opened and there was the killer. His arm was raised, ready to stab us. Without thinking, I took Jake's lamp and knocked out the killer with it. The line dispatcher had closed by then.

"Well damn," Jake said laughing. I laughed too, feeling satisfied. We then heard sirens outside, so we went to explain everything to them. Well, Jake did while I was put in an ambulance. After Jake explained what happened and after the police arrested the killer, Jake went to the hospital to be with me.

We arrived at the hospital quicker than I thought we would. I was placed in a hospital room where I got dressed in a hospital gown. Luckily the place where I was stabbed didn't affect me and all I had to do was get stitches. The doctors insisted that I stay one night. After I got the stitches, Jake came into the room to talk to me.

"Hi," I said smiling.

"Hey. Sorry you got stabbed," Jake said, sitting on a chair beside my bed.

"Don't be. It's that fucking psycho's fault," I replied. He smiled at me before talking.

"I called mom, and uh, she sounded drunk. I don't think she's going to visit you," Jake explained.

I had expected this. Charlie was the only man whom mom loved after dad (who broke her heart by leaving), and he was a good man who respected and loved mom a lot. When they were together my mom stopped her drinking problems, but it looks like they are back.

"Is the killer arrested?" I asked Jake.

"Yup, and it turns out it was Gracken Jules. The guy who Charlie purchased drugs from," Jake replied.

"Charlie was on drugs?!" I asked, shocked. Charlie seemed like such a happy guy, I never knew he did drugs!

"No, no. It was a one-time thing. It was Charlie's first time buying drugs. Jules confessed to it all," Jake explained.

"Oh, okay," I say nodding my head.

"Did you call Liam or Emma or one of my friends?" I asked Jake after a few moments.

"No, because I didn't have the time, but they should know what happened by now. It's on the news," Jake replied.

"I hope they come," I said sighing.

Jake smiled at me before reading something on his phone. His smile immediately dropped after a few seconds.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"A lot of things. One, it turns out mom and Charlie were engaged and keeping it secret from us, wanting to surprise us with the news about them. Two, mom kind of blames you for Charlie's death," Jake replied, his voice trailing off at the last sentence.

"Why?" I questioned. Jake shrugged his shoulders. I could tell that he had an answer, but didn't want to reply. I secretly thanked him for that.

A few minutes later, the door opened and Liam, Emma, and Lya were there. Noah and Adam had both sent me texts asking me how I felt and telling me to get well soon but couldn't come.

"Hi! I'm so sorry about what happened!" Lya said, giving me a hug. I hugged her back, and I knew that the concern in her voice was genuine. The other two hugged me, and they all bought me gifts. Roses from Liam, a book from Lya, and makeup from Emma. I was grateful to all of them but was feeling tired of talking to everyone all at once.

I could tell that they all got the hint and left soon, so it was just me and Jake. He didn't want to leave me because there was no one else taking care of me, so he asked the hospital for a room for him to be in and they gave him one as they understood the situation.

It had been one crazy day, and I was glad that it was over. But the craziness was just starting.
