1-1: finding a start

Here I am, running away from a group of kids in a street. Parents and other kids were staring or going on with their day. I'm scared. I'm tired... Closing my eyes and taking breath after breath I hear beeping. When I look up I felt a rush of air hit me as a car honking their horn passes by at full speed. "HEY! SLOW DOWN YOU ASS!" I don't care if the pursuers were talking to me or the car. But the honking didn't fade. "Mmm..."

And like that the wind from my fan woke me up along with my clock. "You are dismissed" I get up out of bed and walk to the bathroom playing music as I'm getting ready. "Hmm~ mm~" slipping on my shoes and grabbing my bag was the last to do~. Locked and I am ready for the day! My ear buds connect to my phone and I just enjoy my time to a new day at school "Hmm nm~ can't stop the loneliness~~" I was totally zoned out and didn't see a guy running my way. He bumped into me really hard that I fell, all I heard from him was a sorry as he ran off. I picked up my phone that fell out of my pocket and bag the store-bought bread that I had been nibbling on wasn't in my hand "ah, my bread" swiveling my head around I found it... By someone's feet... "Oh no... My bread..." It was utter defeat.

The person who had been standing by picked up my ruined bread. "This is your's right? You should have held on to it better so you wouldn't have wasted this much." They were glaring at me "wow... No need to be that harsh" I was getting up and about to dust my self off when another guy came around. "You gotta slow down! Let me catch up man! Oh, who's this?" This man was holding his knees, catching his breath "how'd I know?" I take the wrapper for the bread out of my pocket and reach for my ruined bread "why he's got the same uniform as us, no harm in asking! Hey, what's your name?" I wrap the bread in the and stuff it in my pocket "Ayato... Ayato Aishi?why'd you ask?" I plug back in my buds "can't you tell? We're going to the same school! I'm Taro Yamada and this guy's Osano Najimi!" I turn away from them and continue on my path "mm, okay. Alright, pleasure meeting you. Have a nice day" as I'm walking I could hear muffled talking.

When we checked into our lockers and changed shoes they... More specifically Taro told me "when your done... Or ready to, you can join us in the courtyard. Cya!"... And end of story. I'm not joining them. I was heading to class when I smelt something absolutely delicious. I couldn't help myself from letting my mouth water. I was making my way around the school trying to figure out where it was coming from. As I slowly opened a door heat from inside blasted into my face.

"Oh my, looks like someone would like to join us." A smooth voice called out "that is if you would like to join us" the sweet smell was really strong, I nodded furiously. "Come, come. Sit down!" A tall man gestured to a chair and the others smiled. I sat and hesitated "can I take one?" "My, of course! They're absolutely the bomb!" A shorter guy instantly responded "right Amao-kun?" They looked to the tall man "right, take as much as you want." He had a club leader band around his arm. I took some mini muffins and pieces of French toast along with a cinnamon bun. When I checked the time it was five minutes before class would start. "Thank you for the food but I have to get going" before I could leave Amao asked from my name "Ayato Aishi, sir" "oh goodness, please. My name is Amao Odayaka, but call me Amao." It was awkward for me to call someone who I'm sure was older then me and I'm pretty sure I don't really know him by his first name... But if he insists. "Okay, well thank you, Amao, and your club for the food. Have a good day." I turned my back and headed for class. "Heh, you too... Ayachan..."

I was reading through roll call as my name had long past. "Psst, hey, what cha read'n?" The person sitting next to me leaned over their blond hair almost touching my shoulder "nothing much... Just catching up on something..." I tried to shoo them away and it worked "oh... Okay..." For a second! "What're you catching up on? It looks interesting" they leaned in again "Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi... It's not th-" "ASO RITO?" "HERE!" He sat up straight, stiff and nervous as the roll call continued "a-anyway what were you saying?" "That it wasn't that interesting..." He looked at me for a bit "then why are you catching up on it?" "Cause I've got nothing else to do. That's why, now will you stop bothering me?" He smiled and finally backed off. "Okie dokie Aishi-kun."

As the lunch was ending I found myself walking someone to the nurse's office. "Uhm... Thanks for... Helping me..." He stumbled as he held onto me "it's nothing Ruto-kun... Can I ask what you were doing in the bathroom anyways?" He looked away "I... I am, actually... You won't find what I... Say... Weird will you?" Sighing I guess I have to say no otherwise he probably won't tell me. "Course not... Nothing's more weirder then finding someone about to pass out in the bathroom... There's nothing to be embarrassed about." He looked back with a sort of angry embarrassed face "fine... I am really... Really, really into ghost... And spirits... Yokai and that sort of stuff... I-I heard some roomers last year about a gho-" "YIEEEE!! THAT HURT'S!!! STOP!" Before we cou- "IF YA STOP FIGHT'N YA WOULD'N EVEN BE HERE!!! SIT STILL WILL YA!!!???" AHEM! Before we could reach the office there was QUITE a ruckus happening in there. "Uhm... I-it seems... There's something going... On... W-we shouldn't bother... Them..." Oko was tugging on me as I opened the door "excuse me! I have a fatigued friend!" A roughed up man was pushing the nurse away as he was wrapping bandages around the mans wounds. "He's free to use one of the open beds" he continued wrestling the man... At this point it looked more like a brawl square then an office... I walked him to the farthest bed and left him there "ah, thanks... Uh..." At this point I guess it's my name? "Ayato Aishi. Now you gotta rest up Oko." He was snug in the bed sheets "yes... Thanks Aishi..." "Yep, don't forget to thank the nurse" I couldn't see him as I was leaving but I'd like to think he was nodding his head while waving.

Me and Aso sat in class as the teacher went over introductions for the new year. The class room door slid open "your late!" the bruised up guy from the nurse's office just sat in his seat and stared out the window as whispering started to formulate around the room. Ask leaned in and piped "psst, isn't he the head honcho of the delinquents?". He whipped around as the class was still quietly sharing words "WHAT?! IF YA GOT SOMETHIN' TO SAY, JUST SAY IT! IF NOT THEN SHUT UP!" He sweep the room with a glare, everyone in turn had zipped their lips. The teacher had continued and explained what tomorrow's schedule was, but it was clear no one was paying attention to the teacher. Instead they were busy leering over the bruised guy.

Class had ended and I was putting my book away as others were talking and planning with friends... "hey! You ready?" I looked up finding Taro and Osano walking over. "Mhm... Okay now, have a good day" I was walking past them when I felt a tug on my shirt "hah?? What do you mean 'good day'? Aren't we going to walk together? Couldn't you have noticed we were walking the same way." Taro budged in "what he means to say is, won't you walk with us?" I look at them for a long second "what difference would it make?" Just let me go! I walked off bag in hand and buds in with them trailing behind me. There was a little paper ghost along with a note inside my locker [ I just want to say thanks again... ~Oko Ruto ] "what're you smiling for~?" Taro peered over the now folded paper and tiny ghost "just a letter..." We quickly changed our shoes and headed off ghost and note in hand.
