"So.. Have you gotten your crush a gift yet?" Jake asked me.

"Well yeah, but it's not much." I reply as I remember slipping the love letter into Jake's locker. "How bout you?" I asked him.

"Not much." He said. "Speaking of which, who is your crush anyway?"

I felt a tiny panic. What should I tell him? Suddenly, he looked right  into my eyes, it felt.. heavenly.. and calming. He smiled softly.

"Your hair is down today. Trying to pull something off?" Jake teased. Even though it was said as a joke, I was trying to pull something off. I decided from now on I would keep my hair down, just like Daisy. I could grow it a bit more and maybe Jake would feel the same attraction towards me as he does for Daisy.

"Just.. trying something new." I lied. He chuckled.

"Alright then. It looks pretty on you!" Jake complimented. Just as I thought, it was working. He now thinks I'm pretty. We both started chatting while slowly walking towards his locker. He was gonna see my letter.

"Oh, by the way, Sean is inviting us over this weekend for ice skating. Are you down?" Jake told me.

"Ice skating? Are you coming?" I asked.

"Of course I am! It sounds like fun, but I think it would be more enjoyable if you came." He smirked at me.

"Alright, I'm coming, you cocky simp." I teased him back. We reached Jake's locker and when he pulled it open, I expected to see my letter fly out, but instead, lots of things raged down like a waterfall. Box of chocolates, cards, and other gifts from other girls poured out.

"Wow. The tweak of being popular, huh." I said to him.

"Milly's fault for telling the whole school." Jake scoffed. All the gifts were in a pile, and I saw my card lying there too.

"Ugh, what am I gonna do with all of this." He groaned. I laughed at his cute reaction.

"Oh well, not my problem." I giggled at him. Suddenly, the bell rang.

"You go ahead to class. I'll find a spot to put this in." Jake said to me. I rushed to the next class and sat down. About 5 minutes later, Jake arrived.

"Jake Sterling. You're late." The teacher yelled across the classroom.

"Sorry, Miss." He panted. He then sat down next to Drew, and my teacher proceeded her lesson. I zoned out for a sec, but I was thinking about Sean's ice skating plan. I'm only going because of Jake. I don't know how to skate and I haven't touched the new skates my dad bought last month. I don't think I'll enjoy it, but I'll try anyway. It's another step to becoming closer to Jake.

The daydreaming in my head was a time passer I guess. The bell rang sooner, and when I stepped out of the classroom, Jake was surprisingly the first person that came to me

"Hailey! You'll never guess what someone gave me!" He excitingly said to me.

"Woah, you looked really hyped up about whatever your gonna show." I chuckled. Just then, Zander walked up to me.

"Hailey, hurry up. We need to get home soon." He told me. Jake then pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pocket. He began unfolding it and showing it to us. Wait a minute-

"I have a secret admirer!" Jake finally revealed.

"That's not surprising." Zander scoffed. "Wait.. Secret admirer? Let me see that.." Zander snatched my letter from Jake's hand and started reading it, then he looked up at me.

"Hailey, this looks like.." Very suddenly, he grabbed my arm and pulled me aside.

"I know that's from you, but I didn't expect.. him.. to be you're crush." Zander said, making a weird face at me.

"Oh, I thought it was obvious." I lied to him. Of course I never told him, due to the fact that he's overprotective over me when It comes to Jake.

"You're.. in love with him?" He re-assured, but he sounded nervous and unsure.

"Yeah.." I said. "Is there a problem?" I asked. Zander sighed, then looked at me.

"Hailey, he's been bullying us for years. Are you sure you're gonna trust him with your heart?"

"Of course I am, you can't control my love life." I told him. "Besides, hasn't he already proved himself that he's trustworthy? And he's done a lot of things for the club, including you." I sighed. I paused, then looked at the ground.

"When will you ever learn to give Jake a chance? He's trying to change." I asked, quietly.

"Fine." Zander scoffed. "But if he does something to hurt you, then it's over." He went over to Luke while I walked back to Jake.

"Sorry.. about that.." I apologised nervously.

"Oh, don't sweat!" He said. "Anyways, about the letter-" I got so impatient I accidentally interrupted.

"Do you like it?!" I loudly asked. I realized how loud I was and quickly covered my mouth.

"I-I mean.. Have you even read it yet?" I started blushing out of embarrassment, then Jake gave me a look. I could tell he was suspecting me of being the writer of the letter, which I was but obviously I didn't want to give it away.

"Hey! I'm not the one who wrote it." I crossed my arms.

"Wow, you can read me like an open book." Jake said, impressed. He opened the envelope and took out my letter.

"The writer sounded so sincere. They sounded so.. sweet." He started blushing harder and harder at each statement he was saying.

"You think so?" I chuckled. I was beginning to blush a little too.

"I hope it's Daisy. Whoever wrote this seems exactly as sweet as her." He had a big smile on his face while mine faded at what he had just said.

"oh.. yeah, she's really sweet. perfect for you." I realized I was letting jealousy get the best of me, but Daisy was too much. Jake loved her too much. Or maybe I was the one being too much. The bell rang and It was time to go home.

"Oh, well I guess I'll see you this weekend?" Jake waved goodbye, and that reminded me about Sean's ice skating plan. I sighed, how will I have fun this weekend? I'm the only person in the club that can't skate.

Zander and Luke had gone skating together a lot recently. Jake had been teaching his brother how to skate, Milly practices so she can show off to all her friends (including the club) and Sean had been skating since he was in elementary.
