3 - Jealousy

Of course, Sean invited Daisy as well. I've seen that they have been becoming closer lately. That means that Jake will probably talk to her the whole time while I'm alone, miserably failing at trying to skate.

I never quite understood the hype about ice skating. All you do is glide around on a chunk of ice and do some tricks and strike a few poses maybe. It sounded like a bore to me, that's probably one of the reasons I've never gone.

As I was zipping on my jacket, a notification popped up on my phone. It must be Jake. Out of excitement, I quickly picked up my phone to see what it was, but it was just Sean asking when I might be arriving. I was already ready to leave the house, and the skating rink was only about 10 minutes away. It was supposed to last late morning until evening, maybe like 11:00 to 5:00 or 6:00.

"Alrighty kids! Ready to go?" My dad asked Zander and I.

"I guess." Zander replied. My dad started the car while I checked to see if I had ANY new messages, especially from Jake. I was excited to see him, but obviously he was more excited to see Daisy since he's so head over heels in love with her. I can't see why Jake loves her so much. I mean I get how pretty she is but I don't see anything else. Maybe there's something in her personality that's so love-able, and it's something I don't have. I've already started putting my hair down so my hair matches Daisy, so now I need something else, maybe in my personality this time. Confidence? Kindness? Leadership? She is a head girl after all so she does a lot of 'bossing' and things like that, but If I bossed people around I feel like I would sound mean.

Maybe sweetness? I mean I've already given a secret love letter to Jake, but I feel like I put more effort into it. Next time, I'll pour more of my heart and soul into my next letter. Maybe Jake will appreciate it more so that it seems too sweet to be written by Daisy.

"Oh, Hailey! You're here!" Sean greeted me. Milly and Luke already arrived, so that means we were still waiting for Jake and Daisy. It wasn't surprising that Jake was late, but Daisy. Maybe they went together. It's killing me even more each time I think of Jake and Daisy together. Jake liked my hair down, so maybe he'll be fluttered by my sweetness.

"Hailey. You're staring into space again." Milly informed me as I snapped out.

"Oh.. sorry." I quietly apologised.

"Hey, wanna see this new trick I learned?" She asked, pointing to the skating rink. Without hearing my response, Milly ran to the ice while I rushed to follow me behind. She put on her skates and hopped onto the ice.

"Hopefully this will convince you of how fun skating is." Milly said, facing me while skating backwards.

"pfft. yeah whatever." I groaned, watching Milly as she started. Jake still wasn't here, and I was already bored. Maybe I could join Milly on the ice. I went back to my bag and rummaged through until I found my pair of skates. It hadn't been touched but it wasn't exactly new either. It was shiny white with a gold trim, and it had fur on the rim of the skates. The blades were so shiny that I didn't want to touch them. Though the skates were very beautiful, I was thinking again. Do I really want to do this? On second thought, I'll probably get teased a lot by Milly. Plus, if I fall, she would be laughing hard, and it's not a good feeling when Milly is laughing at you.

I put my skates back into my bag and instead sat on a nearby bench while watching the others have fun doing something I can't.

"Hey, princess!" I heard someone call out from behind. I turned around to see Jake waving at me.

"Oh, Jake!" I yelled back to him. I stood up and ran toward him. I looked up at him when I was about 10 feet away, and I saw Daisy, standing next to him.
