"When we went to get your checkups the doctor said that you had 5% blood that didn't match with the rest."
Amane and Nene were alone together in his room while Sakura was talking to Mora and Ara in hers. He told them that he wanted to speak with Nene alone.
"You didn't tell me," Nene said. She couldn't look him in the eye because she felt disrespected somehow. Amane wouldn't tell her something she had the right to know.
She knew that she was his blood slave but they did not have that type of relationship anymore. They never really seemed to have it at all.
And they needed to be honest.
"I know, I just didn't want to stress you out. I wanted to figure all of this out first," he replied. "But you should've told me." She tried to sound firm. Confident. Instead, her voice cracked.
Amane went down on his knees in front of her. She sat on the bed and sadly stared at him. "I know, I'm sorry. More than sorry. I want you to know, I won't keep anything from you anymore. For now on, It's you and me." He swallowed. "I want to marry you, Yashiro," he whispered.
She had tears in her eyes and softly smiled. Marriage. A thing she never envisioned for herself. She never thought she was half a vampire. She never thought that she could gain back her vampire side and more.
But did she want that?
She wanted nothing more than to be with Amane but she just wanted him. She didn't want the duties and she didn't want to bury that human part of her.
Amane frowned, seeing her expression. "You don't want to be with me?' he asked. Nene quickly shook her head. "I do. I want to be with you too. I want to wait a long while and I'm not sure what I want when it comes to everything else. All I know is that I just want you," she explained.
Amane understood. He understood everything she was saying. "So we'll wait. We'll wait as long as you need," he smiled. "I'll let you think and until you decide we'll keep everything on the low."
Nene gazed into Amane's eyes. She saw love in them. He loved her. That's what he said himself and she knew he was telling the truth.
She didn't know what to say about it. She didn't know if Amane was still thinking about it...He probably was. He didn't just forget about things but whenever she wanted to say something about it, she'd choke.
Her hand cupped his cheek. He was confused because her eyes looked distant. "What's wrong?" he asked, placing his hand over hers. She shook her head with a smile.
"Can I see Mora?" she asked. She wanted to talk to her. She wanted to get to know her. She felt that if she had to decide whether or not she wanted her vampire side back, she wanted to know what her own mother was like.
She wanted to know if she could claim her mother's blood after all this time. All of these lies.
"Of course," he said. Standing, he took her hands in his and helped her to her feet. "Mora is in the garden at the moment."
