After a long time, I was in downtown, Tokyo, accompanied by a good friend of mine.
We went to the same high school and since we had summer vacation now, we had spend the evening shopping today.

Again and again I was amazed how beautiful Tokyo was, especially at night when the streets were lit up.
A cool wind swept through my hair,  giving me an unpleasant cold feeling on my skin.

I had the feeling, that I had dressed too cool today, well, it had been pretty warm earlier, since it was summer but towards night it always got naturally a bit colder.
Made sense.

My thoughts were interrupted by my best friend putting her hand on my right shoulder.
"Alright, is there any place you want to go before we have to go home? My parents are waiting for me, my mother will probably cook something for dinner today and I'm really hungryy"
I heard her stomach growl bedsides me.

"We could have snack something, you just had to say something"
I smiled.

"No it's okay, just let's go home already!"
She snuggled against my arm and I noticed that she was shivering.

"Okay, okay i heard you ,you poor thing"
I laughed, she was a sweetheart sometimes.

So we headed home, my friend and I didn't lived too far from each other, which was actually pretty awesome.

No one of us talked, as we walked our way home together.
It was relatively quiet, apart from driving cars and the calm wind this night.
Now the street was pretty narrow and only a few people were to be seen. Somehow, I always had a strange feeling when I walked this way.

"This place is really creepy, I heard that members of gangs who terrorize Tokyo have been sighted here quite often"
She whispered in my ear and I got goose bumps.

"Really?"
I looked at her and she grinned.
"Shut up, you just want to scare me!"

"maybe"
The girl laughed.
"Still, we girls have to be more careful when we're out late at night"

I nodded, she was right.

"Don't worry, I'm by your side y/n."
She smiled and i was happy, i wasn't alone.

So we walked through the streets that were not unfamiliar to us, which we had to pass often enough.
Although, I would have liked to go a bit faster, somehow I felt uncomfortable.
Suddenly, I felt someone grab my leg, I startled.
A young man was sitting on the side of the road, we hadn't noticed him at all. My heart was racing.
"God damnit, you scared me you creep, let me go!"
I yelled still in shock.

I took a closer look at him.
He had the hood of his hoodie over his head.
He looked at me with sleepy gaze, he had dark circles under his eyes and did not responded anything at all.

"He looks like a crack addicted homeless, just ignore him, he is surely under the influence of drugs"
My friend grabbed my hand and pulled me away from him.

We stopped briefly, to look at him curiously and to process the situation.
I took several deep breaths to calm myself down.
"What he must have experienced that he ended up like this..."
How pitiful, I felt kind of sorry for him.

"Whatever, let's go already y/n,  this is getting too much for me here.."

I just nodded, we turned our backs on him and walked on, this time at a faster pace.

"So, take care of yourself."
My friend hugged me.

"See you hun, I'll text you, when I'm home."
I said when she let go of me and we parted.

"Yes, don't forget! bye!~"
She waved a goodbye.

From here it wasn't far from my home.
I smiled -
Couldn't wait to get some sleep. I felt tired.
