"I wish you were going to Prom; I don't know why in the world you'd ever skip out on Prom." Laurie stated. She and Brian were sat on the floor of a quiet corner of the library. They'd been flipping through textbooks, trying to find any form of research for a lousy class project they'd been assigned to do. But no such luck. Thus, how the topic of Prom came about.

"I never thought you'd be the type of person to get hyped about Prom." Brian chuckled.

"Well, I am! I never really cared about Prom until it was actually my time to go! And well, it's my time to go now." Laurie explained as she scrolled through online shopping websites.

"Connor's taking you, right?" Brian asked. Laurie sighed.

"I don't know, that's the thing. We haven't really talked about it. I mean, I dunno, is it kind of implied when you're dating someone that they take you to prom?" Laurie groaned.

"Jeez, never thought I'd like to see the day where Lauren Davis is stressing over dresses, shoes, flowers, boys, and shit." Brian teased.

"Shut up, man." Laurie rolled her eyes playfully. "I mean, I don't usually care about the huge promposal gesture or anything, but I just can't tell if he's going to ask me, or even wants to go! But like, do you think Connor will ask me? I dunno, man.." She asked, fiddling with the laces on her shoes.

"Yeah, Connor may not seem like it at first, but the guy is a romantic sap, for you, Laur." Brian spoke. "But you already know that hell, you guys have been together for the longest time."

"Yeah. But should I bring it up? Or something?" Laurie wondered aloud.

"I don't know, man. Maybe once Prom gets closer." Brian shrugged.

"It is close." Laurie deadpanned.

"I mean like, if it gets to be unreasonably close." Brian chuckled.

"Alright, thanks Mr. Genius." Laurie sighed, flipping open the textbook yet again.

"You're right! I am a genius. Glad someone noticed." Brian boasted.

"Oh, shut up." Laurie chuckled.

"What do I do, though!?" Connor asked frantically.

"Dude, you've seen promposals, they've been happening all week. You aren't clueless." Harlan shrugged.

"Well... how are you asking Brooke?" Connor asked, running his hands through his hair, stressed.

"You forget, we're not going to prom. It's junior and senior prom and we're not exactly that yet." Harlan shrugged. Connor forgot that Harlan was a bit younger sometimes.

"Yeah." He sighed. "But like, is it implied that I ask her or take her to prom?" Connor asked.

"Well do you want to?" Harlan asked.

"Yeah! Yes. Of course, I do, duh." Connor nodded. "But here's the thing, I don't know whether it's implied that we go together, I don't know how I'd ask her even if I did, I don't even know if she wants a whole big gesture for me to ask her. Have I already asked her by being her boyfriend? Does she want me to ask her? How do I even ask her!?" Connor ranted.

"You're scary when you're stressed." Harlan stated. "Like a stressed, angry, angsty, pouting golden retriever."

"Shut uppp." Connor whined, dramatically. Connor chuckled realizing how pathetic he looked, laying on the floor of his basement, kicking his feet, stressed over how to ask his girlfriend to a dance. In reality, it was probably pathetic, but also extremely cute, at least that's what Lauren would say.
