Chapter 10 : An attack?

Zayn then turned around and started to head towards the door again.

"We should head back before Maria wakes up-" he was in the middle of saying this as a giant boulder came hurling towards his direction, hitting him in the process and chucking him into the air and flinging him off the roof and smashing into the house next door. All of this happened in a matter of seconds.

"Zayn" Ella shouted as she ran to the railing on the edge of the roof to take a look in the street below, suspecting that Zayn fell into the street below.

As she reached the railing and leant over to take a look into the street below, her long black hair moved forward due to the speed she ran over in and some of it hung down from the both sides of her face and fluttered in the cold wind.

She thought that Zayn had fallen down into the street below but when she glanced into the street Zayn was nowhere to be found. The only thing she thought was that either he had somehow been able to avoid getting hit by the boulder or in the worse case scenario had gotten critically injured, but soon decided not to think of the second possibility.

Ella then turned around to look around, hoping to spot where the boulder had come from.

Ella couldn't help but worry about about Zayn when she looked at the sheer size of the boulder which was around three times her height and around the same in width.

But she was relieved by the fact that the place where the boulder had made contact on the roof was not not damaged even a little bit while the house next door in which the boulder had been stuck currently was completely destroyed while it's bits and pieces fell into the nearby streets.

Suddenly a rather eerie feeling creeped over her as she thought about the state of the people in that house in which the boulder had slammed into but by looking closely she concluded that the house was rather abandoned.

But due to the loud sound created by the boulder crashing into the house, many people started to come out of their houses hoping to find the cause of the loud noise, and soon a large ruckus was created and some of the police department had arrived and had started to evacuate the citizens on Ella's orders. At first the officers were not complacent on listening to her but when she showed them her ID and rank they instantly listened to her order and started the evacuation.

This was done because Ella concluded that the boulder was intentionally hurled towards them by someone rather than it being an accident.

Soon the near vicinity of the house was completely devoid of any and all kinds of life. The police had insisted on staying but Ella told them to return and protect the citizens and let her deal with the situation on which they complied almost instantly.

As soon as they left, another boulder of similar size came flying towards her at great speed.

'I need to find out where the boulder came from or rather who sent it here, and why did they target Zayn instead of me. Looks like I'll have to catch the person responsible and interrogate them personally. But before that I'll have to take care of that giant boulder coming my way' she thought as she took a step back.

And started to ready herself in order to face whoever the person responsible for this is. She didn't know who the person was but she could tell that he would be strong atleast at the B-rank level.

'Looks like I'll have to take it seriously ' Ella thought as she placed her left hand on her waist, "Flash equip" she stated in a low tone as a bright flash of light enveloped her.
