I wake up, squinting from the light. I must have fallen asleep when Harry was here. I sit up and yawn a little. I didn't have any bad dreams this time. Maybe my nightmares are finally gone. I throw the blanket that rest on me off, not knowing how it got there. Manda is in her bed sleeping and I'm guessing it late.
I walk over to my dresser and open the top draw. I pull out my old diary I use to write. I open it to a random page and skim over it. The page just so happens to be about my first date with Dean. The guy who literally tore me into pieces and I was too naive to even see it.
I checked my make up one last time before rushing downstairs. Dean, one of the hottest guys in our school, was picking me up for a date. I walked into the kitchen to wait until he got here. Drew and my dad were helping my mom cook dinner.
"Ooh what are you cooking?" I asked when I smelled the delicious food.
"Fried chicken and cheesy potatoes," my mom answered. "Are you eating here?"
"No," I answered, taking a sip of water. "We're going to get a bite to eat before going over to Stacey's."
"Awe," my father cooed and pinched my cheek, jokingly. "Are little girl is all grown up."
I rolled my eyes and swatted his hand away, "I'm not little. I'm almost eighteen."
"And you're barley going out on your first date now?" Drew teases me.
"Shut up, I was waiting till I got out of high school," I glare at him.
"That reminds me!" my mom suddenly said "Your graduation party! How many people are you inviting?"
"Just family and close friends so about, twenty?" I guessed with a shrug. I didn't want a big party simply because all the cleaning you have to do after it. Drew had a gigantic party and even though it was fun, cleaning up sucked.
Just as she was about to reply the door bell rang. I smiled and rushed to answer it. My brother and father both followed, being over protective like always. I open the door and almost drooled at the sight of him. He had is football varsity jacket on and his hazel eyes glistening. His hair was pushed back and he smiled at me, his white teeth on display.
"Hey," he greeted me and leaned to kiss my cheek.
I blushed and greeted him back, "Hi."
"Ahem," someone cleared their throat. I rolled my eyes and faced my dad and brother.
"Hello, I'm Dean," he held his hand out for my dad to shake.
"Be back by eleven," my dad said instead of introducing himself. "There better not be one mark on her and if she comes home complaining your dead." I knew my dad was playing, but Dean didn't but he still seemed confident.
"She better have an amazing time," my brother added much to my horror.
"Of course I will have-"
"They're just messing with you," I interrupted him and glared at my family.
My brother chuckled and my dad said, "Yeah, we're kidding. You two have fun. Don't worry about a curfew."
"Thanks," I kissed my dad's cheek. "Love you both, bye!" I waved to them and walked with Dean to his car.
"I can't believe I finally got you to say yes to me," Dean told me as we drove off. Dean had been asking me put since junior year and each time I told him no.
