Hey on my hiatus I finally realized...I NEED TO UPDATE. Here's a little something in the meantime while I try to get this story back together. Disclaimer: I OWN NOTHING
"What do you mean by no one?" Nick asked concerned from his desk, he was making his typical worried face.
"I mean no one." She said again, more firm this time. She really didn't need anyone, especially Nick, interfering with what she hoped was behind her.
"Amanda..." Fin began, "we just wanna make sure you're good?"
"Well, I'm fine," she snapped, "and I'm late so I have to go." She shrugged while speedily grabbing her stuff and making a bee line for the elevators.
"Hey, I'll come with ya." Nick offered, grabbing his coat as he tried to catch up with her. But the elevator doors were already closing.
"Maybe next time?" she said pretending to be let down as the doors closed shut with her in them.
Nick turned to look at Fin.
"What are you waiting for?" Fin shrugged, "Move your ass and follow her."
Nick began making his way down the stairs in order to catch up with Amanda by the time she made it to their squad car. He looked to see that just as he made it down the steps she was exiting the elevator, so he quickly went to the car and sat in the driver's seat. He could hear Amanda groan from outside, and slowly open up the passenger's door.
"Miss me?" Nick joked, with his trademark smile that usually softened Amanda up. But, instead he got silence.
"Can we just go, we have to get on the scene quick." She breathed. Nick put the car in drive and sped off into the streets of New York City.
"Hey Rollins listen..." he began, not really knowing where to start. He wasn't really the talkative type of guy, but for Amanda he would try, "I don't wanna pry or anything, but are you okay?"
"You don't wanna pry?" Amanda laughed, making his smile too, "You chase me down here to find out what's wrong but you 'don't want to pry'?" she laughed, using air quotes. He just shrugged and put one of his hands up in defense.
"No really, I just wanna make sure you're okay."
"It was my old superior back in Georgia, we didn't really end on a good note." She started, "I didn't really end on a good note with anyone."
"Why'd he call?" Nick asked
"They're coming into town for the conference," Amanda sighed, "I'm just not looking forward to it, there's...problems there." She hesitated
"Anything I should be worried about?" he asked, slowly putting his hand on her back for comfort.
"No," Amanda shook her head, "Everything is gonna be fine."
