Our Time

Chapter twenty-eight part one(Bee): I saw it

I see Thale, his bright eyes smiling at me. I grin, good. He's safe. A man walks up behind him, he's wearing green and yellow. But before I can scream to warn him I'm muffled by a cold hand reaching from behind me. A sword is thrown through Thale's shoulder, he whinces in pain, falling to the floor, I pull the hand off me, "THALE!" I scream.

The hand pulls me back and a knife is held to my throat. I try to use my magic but I've used it all and the moon is falling behind the castle, I close my eyes and try to harness it.

"Oh, Thale. What did I tell you?" A man says.

"Hey, Bee." A girl says from behind me.

I turn my head slightly, It's Valentine? What the heck.

"Yeah, well, the King of Gale paid me a lot of money to work for him. So here I am!" She says, pressing the knife closer to my neck.

I close my eyes again, "Oh, Thale. Why didn't you listen to me? You know they hate you."

"That's not true!" I scream.

He laughs, "As if. Don't be a hero, Bee."

I curl my fingers, If I harness the moon for too long I won't be able to return to normal. Half of me says, So what? If you don't you won't be able to save them. The other half counters. I hold my breath, Val lets go and it goes quiet, a small thump comes from infront of me. I open my eyes, Thale has fallen to the ground.

I turn and drive my fist through Val. Her eyes go wide, she smiles, "Good work, kid." A mist leaves her body and she falls through my hand and onto the floor. My hands have turned a glowing purple that fade up to my natural skin color. I'm also noticeably a few inches taller than I was before.

I turn around again, the King has stepped away from Thale, eyes wide in horror. I teleport to him, raising him in the air with my hand around his throat, "I'll make sure to give your people a visit." I say, anger coursing through my veins.

His face goes red before his eyes dull into death. I drop him. I fall to my knees, Thale. I put my glowing hand on his wound, the skin melts into the hole and he's healed. I smile and pick him up.

As I walk through the town back to the entrance of the castle, the grass goes from burnt to green and all the buildings get put together by a glowing mist flowing from my body. The blood and bodies soak into the ground, becoming one with the town. The moon is starting to disappear into the night, I have to get back before it happens. When I harness for too long and the moon has no more to give I become this type of monster, then when the moon is gone into day I lose all magic. Forever. Which could kill me. I gave up so much to save him.

I get to the entrance, the town looking green again. I smile and carry him inside. Now that I'm away from the moon I feel all power gained and more leaving me. I look up and see my mom, tears falling down her face. I smile. As my height shrinks again and my hands fade into their natural color again I look at my mom, "I love you." I say.

I collapes to the floor.
