Chapter 5 - The Stalker

Lucy's POV

A couple of days after the school festival everything feel back to normal. Daniel became really popular around school, while Duke had gained some recognition, but still once in a while got picked on. But Duke decided to do something that surprised all of us, he started to live stream on Paprika TV, Daniel explained to us. He decided to start a music show/broadcast...sadly they got some backlash. Apparently while you are streaming on Paprika you could gain things called balloons. One ballon is worth 10 cents, so if you got 1,000 balloons you can exchange them for money with a fee of 40%.

Anyways currently, I was heading to school with my head phones on listening to some music Duke made, which was very cool. Finally, I arrived at school and headed to the Fashion Department. I put my stuff down and looked around for Daniel. Currently Daniel has become one of my closest friends if not my closest friend at school, we've been hanging out a lot along with Zack and Mira and sometimes Zoe, but it feels like Daniel and me relate in a lot of ways especially since we have had similar living conditions and we are both broke as fuck-anyways, I quickly spot Daniel waving at me from his seat and quickly head over while dragging me chair and slide it beside his desk while saying hi to couple people. I start to chat with Daniel about random things also about what me and little Daniel his roommate talked about before when we both were working, then suddenly Daniel and me hear someone call his name.

"Daniel~"Yui Kim in our class says as she stands in front of his desk completely ignoring me.

"I loved your performance. The song was really great~"Yui tells Daniel.

"Huh?"Daniel asked confused while staring at me for help while I shrug my shoulders.

"Danny. I thought this suited you so I bought it..."Yui says while holding an expensive wallet with a popular brand, Daniel and me look at each other then depressingly think about how poor we would be if we actually bought that wallet.

"Thanks, but this is too much...Sorry."Daniel tells Yui while refusing her gift. Then Daniel looks at her while Yui gives him a small blush along with some (Cringy) puppy dog eyes. Then it's like I can read Daniel mind while he finally realizes that she has the hot's for him, which causes him to blush. Afterwards I had to go back to my seat since class was about to start. Throughout the whole class I saw Daniel give Yui very obvious glances which almost made me want laugh from how cringy it was.

Time Skip

Throughout the next days, Yui kept on talking with Daniel a lot more than before. This leads to me being the third wheel so I would usually leave anytime Yui would come over to Daniel and I. Anyways throughout their whole interaction I noticed someone else's eyes on Daniel...Zoe. Zoe looked very sad when Yui and Daniel talked with each other along with when Yui and her friends talked to each other. I decided today, I would invite Zoe to lunch since her friends were eating with Yui and it was obviously she didn't really want to sit with them and also Daniel was sitting with Jay and I didn't want to interrupt them.

"Hey Zoe...want to join me for lunch?"I asked her while we were packing up to head there along with everyone else.

"...Sure."Zoe says while looking at me in shock then giving me a small smile.

We both then pack up our stuff then put it in our lockers on the lower floors and head back to the lunch room to grab some food and find a free table. As we finally sit down and start eating, I see Zoe glance over at Yui's table, while Yui is surrounded by all of her friends. I put down my bowl of rice then say "You shouldn't be comparing yourself to other people."
