I didn't know that friendships could hurt
More than falling inlove
I didn't know that oneday
You and I would be part of the word
"History "
I can't blame you though
You tried to be the anchor of this ship
But I was like a traveler
Wandering through the woods
Looking for a detour
An alternative path
To our friendship
It's not like I wore a mask
Maybe I did at some point
To conceal what I felt within
I didn't want to hurt you
Even though I knew that
My heart had called quits long ago
And all that was left was a body
That looked alive yet dead
You didn't hurt me
Maybe occasionally you did
But I let it slip away
Like a leaf floating on wind's whispers
But when I retaliated
You took offense
We could have settled the issue
And try to salvage the broken pieces
But instead
We left the pieces on the ground
Soaked in blood
Because we both stepped on it
And chose pain instead.
