The Anime Hunger Games

~ Day 1: Chapter 6 ~

Luffy District 11

I sit cross-legged on the ground staring at a circular object. "Hm... I wonder what that is..." I mumble and poke it. It doesn't do anything. It came down from the sky beeping. I stare at it intensely.

Then I proceed to shake it up and down violently trying to figure out what it is. There is no rattling noise.

"This thing is stupid. HUH! MAYBE ITS FOOD!" I giggle. I put it in my mouth and try to bite it. My teeth don't even crack through the surface. I can't crush it with my jaw so I spit it out again.
 "*Bleugh* it tastes like metal.*Huff*, well if it's not food then what do I use it for?"

I find what looks to be a button on the ball and press it. It starts to flash red. I watch it for a couple of seconds and it still does nothing.

"Meh."

Out of boredom I throw the ball behind me and cross my arms frustrated. Less than 2 seconds later I hear a massive explosion behind me.

"Wow... So cool!" I praise the ball I tried to eat seconds ago. A big cloud of dust flies around the air around the explosion. I hear a scream erupt I walk over to take a closer look.

I approach the area and there is a guy lying on the ground. His body is torn to shreds. A cannon sounds through the arena. A similar noise sounded earlier though I don't remember what it signifies.

"Hey, you alright?" I ask, thinking about if he has any meat on him, "By any chance do you have any meat?"

He didn't answer.

"Geeze you don't have to be rude about it," I grumble. I turn away, "Well bye loud annoying face." I wave.

My stomach growls, "I could really do for some meat right about now. Too bad that was my only boom boom ball."

I wonder around the forest for hours not finding any meat, however, I did find some berries.

"I wanted meat...." My stomach growls. I inhale the berries and keep walking.


"Haven't I seen that tree before?" I question, "meh."


It is in on the edge of dusk when I step on a stick making a loud cracking noise. I look down, the stick I stepped on had a feather on one end and a pointy rock on the other. It came from a pile of similar sticks. Then a couple of centimetres away there was a curved stick with string.

I stare at it blankly trying to figure out what it is. I pick the curved stick up. "What do I do with this?"

I chew the stick but get bored quickly. I have a memory of someone from before the games using something similar to this.

"Maybe that's what you do with it?" I pick up one of the straight sticks and place it in how I remember seeing it. I pull back on the string and the stick flies through the canopy of the trees.

"So cool!"

I pick up the other sticks, "I wonder who left this here?"

"Hey, person! You left your sticks behind! Hey!" I screamed, with no answer, "That's fine by me but there mine now!"

"These might help me get some meat!" I giggle. I scurry through the forest with a straight stick lined up in the curved one, looking for an animal for me to eat.

I lick my lips as I envision a banquet of all kinds of meat.

I see something move in a bush in front of me - not being able to tell what type of creature it is because it is to dark - I release the straight stick and it hits my target. I rush through the bush and find a green-haired kid lying on the ground with my stick in his head. Then a cannon echoed through the arena.

"Arhh... You're not the food I was looking for. Can I have my stick back?" I ask as I lean closer to his face. I get a look in his eyes. They look lifeless. I freeze, then gulp hard.

"Sorry," I stutter as I pull the stick from his head. I stand up slowly. I feeling of dread overwhelms me. "I'm sorry I hurt you... I hope you get better soon," I smile.

I place a small pile of berries I collected on his chest for him to eat when he wakes up. "I didn't like those berries anyway. There all yours."

And with that I walk away on a quest to find meat.

I am sorry this chapter was short and has little detail. I found it difficult to write considering you don't actually hear Luffy's inner voice (one inside his head). The first day of the hunger games are over and day 2 is only beginning.
