The sight that greeted Percy made his knees feel weak and eyes burn with unshed tears.

"Elodie?..Honey?" He asked, voice cracking on the nickname. Elodie turned her head at Percy's voice and managed a small smile. Her movements were slow as if it took tremendous strength to manage such a small movement and her dual-colored eyes dark with exhaustion. She went to speak but all that came out was a heart-breaking croak. In an instant, Percy was kneeling by her bedside, gently holding her right hand in both of his.

"W-who did this?" He asked and Elodie could only look at him as if the two could talk with only their eyes. A long shuddering breath from Elodie seemed to echo throughout the room before she finally managed to get two words out.

"Don't....know," She croaked and Percy was quick to spew reassurances.

Signa quietly drifted closer to the bed and it wasn't long before she could sense the sharpness of Percy's protectiveness.

"I just want to see, Cousin," She assured while carefully looking over Elodie's form. Breaths came in deep, painful wheezes almost as if her throat was closing.

"Is she allergic to anything?" Signa asked while turning to look at Percy. He stuttered for a sec and Signa could practically see his thoughts racing. She watched as Elodie gently squeezed Percy's hand and looked at him with such calm eyes as if silently telling him to take a deep breath. Percy looked at her for a minute before closing his eyes and taking a shuddering breath.

"Strawberries, nuts, and..." He paused to look at Elodie. "Roses. Why?" Percy asked after remembering.

It was clear that Elodie wasn't just poisoned but most likely given a food she was allergic to as well.

"What did they give you for breakfast, Miss Elodie?" Signa asked and waited patiently for an answer.

"W-waffles...and t-toast. S-said it was m-made b-y a gu-est," She croaked, wincing through the pain.

"Love please no more talking," Percy all but whimpered while squeezing Elodie's hand. He rested his forehead on her arm and Signa watched as his shoulders shook for a few minutes before slumping down.

"Percy. Did you-"

"No, I didn't do this!" He yelled, not moving to look at her.

"I haven't touched belladonna since the garden incident. I swear that to you," He added, his voice wavering.

"P-percy.." Elodie called weakly and Percy curled in on himself.

"No..." He whimpered before Elodie gently cupped his cheek.

"Ho-ney look at me," She whispered and Percy drew a shuddering breath before looking up at her.

"I wouldn't be mad if you di-d it, Love. I-I'd just want t-o know w-what I did," She whispered and Signa went wide eyed. 'She wouldn't be mad if her own husband poisoned her?' She thought before she watched as Percy broke down fully.

"I-I didn't do it! I would never hurt you; I swear!" He cried while reaching up to grab his hair. Elodie managed to catch one of his wrists and tug him towards her.

"Come h-here, My Love," Elodie whispered as she weakly pulled his wrist.

Signa suddenly felt extremely awkward as she watched Percy crawl into the bed and curl into his wife's arms. He cried and mumbled how he didn't do it into her breasts and Elodie gently pat his frizzy hair and rubbed circles into his shoulder.

"I'm going to take my leave to give you some privacy," Signa said softly before turning and taking her leave.

Only two people were let in at a time, though Signa had a feeling Percy wasn't going to leave Elodie's side unless he absolutely had to. Blythe went to reach for the doorknob when Signa stopped her.

"Let's leave them be for a bit," She advised and only when she heard Percy cry out again did she nod in understanding.

"Where is my son?" Marjorie asked angrily, seemingly coming out of nowhere.

"He's in-"

"He's sharing time with his ill wife. It would be rude to interrupt just because you weren't notified that he was back," Blythe sneered and Marjorie stared at her wide eyed before glaring.

"I demand to see my son," She growled before jumping as Elijah's hand came down on her shoulder.

"You can wait, Miss Hargreaves. Leave my son alone to be with his ill wife. He is not a child anymore," He declared with a dangerous glare that had her shrinking back and lowering her head.

"How are Percy and Elodie, Signa?" Elijah asked while moving Marjorie back and stepping towards her.

"Percy is having a breakdown but seems to be doing as well as he can be. As for Elodie, she's weak but conscious and can converse for a few minutes,"

"Did Percy say anything about if he was the cause of this or no?" He asked with a worried glint in his eyes.

"That's what his breakdown is about actually so I have no doubt that he's innocent," Signa explained before feeling that prickly cold of Death's presence. Don't you dare touch Elodie. She growled mentally as Elijah walked away with Marjorie and Blythe sat down against the wall. Signa gave a small smile to Blythe before walking back towards her room. There's already very little time left for her, Little Bird. Fate has decided it, not me. He answered and she felt her blood boil.

"Tell Fate to stick it," Signa grumbled. Death only sighed before retreating slightly.

"That apothecary might have something to help her allergic reaction at least so she can breathe," She murmured to herself before marching off to her room to figure out a plan.
