Chapter 1: New year new you.

I spit away a petal attempting to enter my mouth when a gust of wind blow into my face.

Ugh! Fucking wind!

Despite the fact that I spent 20 minutes on my hair this morning, it only takes 7 seconds for the wind to mess it up. However, this didn't stop me from looking stunning on my first day of school after a long summer. Students turn to stare at me as I walk clumsily to the school entrance. Almost tripping twice in my new black heels. And judging by the looks on everyone's faces, the moment I stepped into this school, I was suddenly becoming the topic of a gossip. Either good or bad, I don't care. Ever since I lost weight and remove my very uncool glasses, people started noticing me.

And don't even get me started on what I looked like last year.

There was an excited buzz in the air at school. The hallway was jam packed with students greeting each other after a long summer. Few students sent glances my way, very unusual, then continues to chit-chat about Summer.

I glance around the crowded hallway, searching for someone, and finally found the person I was looking for.

"Cress!" I called.

Cress looks at me, clearly confused, and daaamn. Did late puberty hit her like a truck or something? My bestfriend turned into a hottie.

Cress looks around then points at herself. Before she could ask who I was, I hug her.

"Ah! I've missed you!."

Cress wore a white-bluish dress and white shoes. Her hair in a low ponytail.

"Umm.. I'm sorry but who are you?."

"You seriously don't recognize me? Some friend you are." I playfully push her away.

Her jaw dropped.

"What the fuck?! Kass?!!."

The hall fell silent, everyone's eyeballs almost popping out their skulls by the time they notice Cress and I.
Yep, the two unatractive nerds who were pretty infamous for being a useless trouble maker in the past two years. Cress and I aren't even nerds to begin with. We barely get A and B's in our subjects, people call us 'nerds' just because we wear glasses and braces. And since we were someone popular kids easily target, Cress and I was always bullied.

But here we are, all glowing and feeling pretty.

"Really? Heels?." She stares.

"Is that a fake mole beside your eye?." I ask. Admiring the perfectly done makeup on her face.

We both laughed.

The two of us walk down the rest of the hall. As we walked, Cress updated me on her summer, "So when I arrived at LA, Aunt Poppy- Mum's younger sister, instantly gave me a makeover and took me shopping." She laughed. "I spent the whole summer learning the art of makeup, it inspires me alot." She boasted, excited to be sharing this with me. And judging the makeup that was perfectly done on her face, I can tell that shes already a pro. Unlike Cress, those few girls here in school cover themselves with thick foundation and powder attempting to look like Kendall Jenner, but ended up looking like Pennywise instead.

Cress is not ugly to begin with. She just wear braces and has no taste in clothes.

But now.. I feel like a proud mother. With a new model look and her braces gone, anyone with eyes can finally see the pretty smile she always has.

"Enough about me, Kass! Look at you." Cress scans my body in awe. "You manage to get rid of those fats and triple chin, except for the creame in your ass."
