We were moving I was still in alter shock when I heard those words, before I knew it we had started packing our thing, I mean a part of me was insanely happy cause it was close to NYU, and a part of me wondered why, well apparently mom got transferred in her place of work, I was so happy for her cause it was good news and she needed a fresh start after the death of my father.
So from a mere news it was getting real like we were moving, by this time the shock was gone I was just over joyed. a few days later we moved to north Hempstead in new York. Tara found out that NYU was still accepting late application so she applied and we were both waiting for our admission.
For the time being Tara and I were exploring new York to get to know the place better with moms credit card, I am sure by now almost all the citizens of new York should know Tara and I. Everywhere we went people would always "oh you guys are so adorable". Tara and I just looked at them like "like ki lo se won"(what is wrong them), and when we get home we would tell mom and we would laugh about the whole thing.
One afternoon mum came inside with two letters from NYU, we were both nervous and told her to open the letters and when she did we both got in, we screamed our heart out. Mom was so proud that we both got in and she decided to take us out for a treat, the treat was worth it cause shopping included that treat.
It was finally the day to leave for school moms eyes were swollen it showed that she had cried the night before when she was asked by Tara she began to cry again and said she was going to miss her babies believe it or not we also cried with her cause I am seriously going to miss that woman, I looked up and wished dad was here to live this moment with us.
When we arrived we were not lucky enough to get the same room and mom wanted us to leave off campus but all freshers had to leave in campus for their freshmen year. we said our goodbyes to mom and that was it we were left alone. Even though we didn't get into the same room our room was beside each others.
We got ready for the our first class and although they were other freshmen like I mean hundreds of them we felt like eyes were on only us, those eyes like who are these girls, so of those eyes spoke they are so adorable, some spoke they look hot. the eyes at the hallway were not even has bad has the once at all the classes we went for, even lecturers gave us those eyes, and it was kind of creepy, I thought Nigerians we known for asking stupid questions but trust me these ones were worse, they were asking questions like "are you guys twins" like bro was it not obvious, and what is with the eyes ugh I hate THOSE EYES.
