- Hyunjun was born in Namyangju-si, South Korea and lived there until he was fifteen - When he was fourteen he lived with his aunt and uncle because his family were struggling at the time and his grandpa was sick - Hyunjun went to high school in Atlanta, Georgia - Hyunjun goes by DJ because he is both Hyunjun (his parents son) and David (his aunt and uncles "son") because they helped raised him and gave him a home - He grew up with a religious family and his beliefs are very important to him as it helped him through tough times - Going through high school and having to suddenly live without his parents was very difficult. Hyunjun called them when he could but sometimes didn't so they could sleep well - When he was eighteen his younger brother was born - Hyunjun has admitted to having mixed feelings about a new sibling. He thought it was cool to have a younger brother (despite the age difference) but was worried for his parents since they were already under so much stress/very busy often - Hyunjun went to college for one year before landing a job as an intern for a producer at Lightbeat Entertainment. - He went to college for a business degree to start his own business. He made and sold music as a side job (to not bother his parents for money) and that's how he was discovered - Hyunjun worked as an intern for a year before getting a junior tech position. He enjoyed it for awhile but really wanted to sing - The company gave him a chance and allowed him to train for 8 months before debuting - Hyunjun is friends with North. The two met in middle school and kept in contact best the could when Hyunjun moved - When Hyunjun moved to back to Korea the two became close again - Hyunjun is the god father of North and Yeojin's daughter - He is best known for his charming personality and sometimes random antics - Hyunjun, Ben and North have matching dino tattoos - He is friends with Changwoo (Love Chaos), Ben (soloist), Ollie (soloist), Yeojin (One Chance), Yeongsam (- When he became a trainee Hyunjun was afraid his family wouldn't support him. He was surprised when they did. His mom asks him to not curse a lot and not have too many body rolls during concerts - Hyunjuns parents thought he was going to be a girl before he was born. Apparently his mother cried when he was born a boy (she wanted a daughter) - Hyunjun will be one of the mentors for SHOOTING STAR: SEASON 2 - Hyunjun is currently in a relationship but his partner has not been identified. The two have been in a relationship since 2019 - Hyunjun went on hiatus in 2021 due to needing a surgery on his left shoulder - He has many tattoos but all of them are hidden except the one of a cross that he has on his shoulder blade - He is allergic to cats...he still has three of them Marlin, Dory & Nemo - Had had another cat, Sandy who passed in 2018 Hyunjun wants to go back to college but doesn't want to take a break from music - He wants to go on a vacation with his friends soon (2022) - Hyunjun wants to get married and have a family one day but he's a little scared of it - There are rumors he will be terminating his contract with Lightbeat Entertainment for mistreatment but nothing has been confirmed (2023)
