A few weeks later Tris and Four finally show their faces. I hug Tris tightly when I see her.
"I see you survived against Edward." She teases.
"Barley!" Edward calls over to us and she laughs.
"He's not kidding. I was knocked out for two days."
That evening I'm playing with the aviator equipment Candor has got some reason when I feel something hit my back roughly. I stand up and look around in confusion just to see the other half of Dauntless invading.
"Well, look what we have here." Eric says. I look him up and down in disgust but say nothing while he roughly takes my arm and pulls me into another room. As we walk, I see what was happening: they shot something to make everyone pass out. Great.
I'm forced to my knees just as Tris and Uriah are brought in. I look at Uriah in shock before looking at Tris who shrugs. Well, that explains why his personality hadn't changed during their little experiment.
"I didn't-I shouldn't have-the lady told me not to come down." A little girl in a white nightgown says, crying.
"I guess you should have listened." Eric says, getting out his gun. Uriah falls onto my legs before I rush Eric while Tris goes ahead and tackles him.
"Enough! We still have to test her." Max says.
"Divergent 100%." A mechanical voice says.
"I'll be damned. She's who we've been looking for."
"Bull shit." I hear Eric say while a screener comes in front of me.
"Divergent 100%." The voice says at the same time as the one in Eric's hand. He and Max hear the echo and turn to see the furious look on my face.
"The Amity and the Abnegation." Eric says. "If you think this just saved your lives your wrong. You're going to wish I killed you."
Tris and I are being escorted out when Four appears and releases Tris, Edward coming up to free my hands.
"Thanks." I say, holding onto his hand for a few seconds before turning.
"Always with the gun, Four. We all know you're not much without it." Eric says. I watch Four hand off his gun and then easily win against Eric.
"What does Jennine want with Tris and Ivy? Tell me." Four orders.
"Look, all I know is that they're just what she's been looking for. They're the perfect subjects." Eric says. I look at Tris who is on the other side of him and share a look of foreboding.
"You're responsible for thousands of murders. You know the consequences." Four says.
"I found a way to live with the blood on my hands. Can you?" Eric asks. I don't even flinch at the gun shot or the sound of a body falling.
"You all know what this means." Four says before turning to the Candor leader, Jack Kang. "Thank you for your hospitality, but we'll be leaving in the morning."
"I didn't think Jennine was capable of doing such a thing." He admits.
I leave the Candor compound next to Will and Christina, a loading gun in hand.
A few days into being at Factionless and I'm getting antsy. I'm walking up to Lynn when we notice Marlene, Hector, and Christina headed towards jumping off a cliff.
"What the hell is that?" I ask them when I see the small ball they got from Marlene.
"You don't have that?" One Factionless ask.
