After fighting a genocidal murder bot I take a step back from being an Avenger and decide to do the whole 'barefoot and pregnant' thing, refusing to miss more of my daughter's life than I already had...and I have a mini-Bradly to protect. He wasn't all that impressed when he found out I went to war pregnant, even left the house for a couple weeks to calm down, but he came back and became a lot more protective.

A year after saving the world, again, I get a lovely call from my dad.

"Hey, spit fire."

"What's up, dad?"

"We have an issue."

"What did you do this time?" I demand.

"It wasn't me this time. NATO thinks the Avengers is getting out of hand and has come up the Sakovia Accords." Dad says, obviously a summary.

"I'm retired."

"They still want you to sign since they can't predict your actions, which gave you the call sign 'Wildcard'." Dad says and I sigh.

"Okay, I know you're with the team. Put me on speaker." I request.

"You're on speaker." Dad says.

"What do you think, Wildcard?" Natasha asks.

"That I was only given half the information. Give me the run down."

"They want us to sign the Accords. If we do then we go where they want when they want." Sam says.

"What if we see something they don't?" I ask.

"Bring it to their attention." Rhodey says.

"And if their agenda won't allow us the time to bring it to their attention making us too late?" I challenge.

"Well, we know where Wildcard stands." Natasha says.

"I might as well go back to the Navy if I wanted to be controlled like that." I say to several people's irritation.

"Mommy, Nick won't stop crying." Jamie calls to me and I sigh. I walk into the nursery and pick my second born up and he stops crying near instantly. "Look, if you guys want to become puppets for the government, be my guest. I worked for the Navy and then SHIELD-which turned out to be Hydra-and I've only been burned by them. I won't let myself be under their thumb again."

"Then you have to retire." Dad says.

"Great. I thought I already was. IVY, hang up." I say and turn back to my kids.

Natasha and Tony sit outside the conference room after the breakout, thinking.

"This isn't going to be good. We need help." Natasha says.

"What about Bruce?"

"Still MIA and do you really think he'd be on our side if I did know where he was? Do you think we could get Laurel?"

"No." Tony says, shaking his head.

"Do you think she'll help Steve?" Natasha asks.

"I don't know. Possibly."

"Would she risk a life with Nick and Jamie like that?"

"She and I...we have plans in place if something happens." Tony says, confusing her, but she doesn't ask. "I may have someone."
