Sebastian was woken up by his alarm clock going off, the boy scrambled to get it to stop. He freezes waiting to see if it had woken up his mother, who probably was passed out somewhere in the house. Sebastian let out a sigh of relief when he got no screaming in return. he looked at the clock it read seven o'clock, which meant he had an hour until he had to be at school.

Sebastian quickly got ready and ran out of his room dodging piles of clothes that had been there for several days, trash that has been piling up for a while, and beer bottles from the many nights his mom would stay up drinking. He was going to get breakfast but he wanted to get out quickly so He decided to skip breakfast. He hoped he could make it out of the house without being noticed, but he wasn't so fortunate.

"Sebastian" he threw his head back and groaned, before turning around and heading to where the vice came from, which led him to the living room.

"Yeah, ma?" Sebastian stood in front of Maria, his mother, who was sitting on the couch splitting her "medicine" as she liked to call it into lines on the coffee table, which was littered with beer cans, beer bottles, little plastic bags that her drugs came in, basically covered in trash. But Sebastian wasn't stupid he knew what it was, but every time he brought it up it just made her angry and violent so he stopped bringing it up.

"Where are you going?" she asked as she took a swig of beer.

"I'm going to school, ma," he told her, hoping she'd drop it so he could leave already.

"But it's Saturday. Which means no school" Sebastian jumped as maria pushed all the empty beer cans that were on the couch onto the floor and patted the now empty seat. "Why don't you come sit with mama? We can watch the astrocats, I know it's your favorite"

As much as he would like to sit and watch movies with her, he knew it wasn't safe to be around her when she was under the influence. Maria had a history of being very aggressive.

"It's Friday" Sebastian grimaced as his mother inhaled the white powder that was on the table before grabbing his skateboard and leaving the house.

Sebastian was walking down the hall, hoping to get there early so he could sleep since he didn't get much last night When bumped right into him. Sebastian wobbled a bit but was able to stay standing, but the person that bumped into him fell to the floor also dropping their books on his foot.

"Watch it, asshole!" Sebastian spat as he kicked the books off his foot.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry! I didn't see you there. I was looking at my schedule. I really didn't see you there. I'm waiting for my sister. She's in the bath-" he scrambled to pick up his books off the floor. The boy's panicked rambling was actually starting to make Sebastian feel bad for calling him an asshole.
