THE wheels of Ju Ho's cycle rotated on the asphalt road as a legion of doves, sailed at a considerable height over his head in the vast sea of the sky.

The laundromat near his neighbourhood, was undeniably a crowded place since it was the only one in around a distance of two kilometres. It took him an hour to get a washing machine for himself. It was quite the sight when he was wrestling and arguing with the women, who wanted to get their laundry done first.

"Long time no see, bitch!"

A familiar robust voice resonated in Ju Ho's ears, penetrating through his thoughts about his bitter experience. He casted his eyes towards his left. It was Kwon Jung Woo, his bestfriend since he had first learnt to talk. He was riding his cycle just beside him. He had no idea when he randomly popped out on the road.

"Hi, bitch!" a giggle escaped Ju Ho's mouth, greeting him in their own usual way. His mood instantly became lighter.

That random curse word was a silly nickname that they have always called each other. Well, if you ask them when and why they came up with such a thing, they would just stare at your face blankly and break into a fit of laughter. It could have been in middle school when they learnt cursing or it could have been during those stressful days of high school when they first got into an argument.

The two of them hooted like toddlers and raced together, for quite some distance before parking their bicycles, against the wall of a local handmade chocolate factory. The building was almost as old as them, their cherished memories of childhood lying at the corners, everywhere. The shades of rouge and juniper of the hanging bougainvillea florets cascaded down the brick wall. The petals were still dewy from the shower that they had received the day before. Ju Ho loved passing by it whenever he was on his way back to his home.

"Where did you suddenly come from?" Ju Ho faced Jung Woo with a breezy laugh." I thought that you were at Seoul. Did you get a vacation from job, for yourself?"

Jung Woo stared at Ju Ho for a splitting second. He tore away his gaze before speaking. "Do you want to go inside the factory? It's been a long time since we sneaked into the building."

"Why?" Ju Ho hit Jung Woo's back, jokingly. "Did you miss these chocolates after moving to Seoul?"

Jung Woo just smiled as he pulled Ju Ho's shirt and made him follow his path. Under the pleasant sun and tranquil abstract clouds, they walked together, a brief state of silence reigning amongst them. It wasn't uncomfortable. The years of being together had made them get to know each other from every perspective.
