Today I had the responsibility to occupy the youngest because the girl who had to take care of them was on a hunting mission for the day. As the Sully's had just arrived I decided to go to their house to propose to Tuktirey and Kiri to participate in the activity. I entered their tent and saw Neytiri sitting on the floor sharpening her arrows." Hi Neytiri " I spoke as I entered.
She raised her head and a smile came to her lips when she saw me "Hello Äära".
"I just came here to see if Tuk and Kiri wanted to join us for the morning activity" I walked up to the woman who looked up at me.
"That's very nice Äära, they are with Lo'ak and Spider they will be here soon" she turned her head slightly to the side and gave me a smile.
"Do you mind if I wait for them here?" I asked.
"No problem" I sat down next to her "I know you didn't want us to stay but I need some answers" she continued
"We are here to help you but nothing is certain. I understand how you feel, losing a child is not easy, my mother went through the same thing but I know it's not the same thing.
"It's the same thing, a child is a child, a mother would do anything for her children you know" she placed her hand on my knee smiling at me I could see she was trying to hold back her tears.
"I know, I just want to say that my mother is dealing with a lot emotionally and it will take time for her to contact Neteyam. What you're asking of her is taking a lot of energy that's weakening her, if she loses this baby she'll be destroyed. She has been trying for so long, this baby is a miracle..." tears came to my eyes.
Neytiri looked at me with so much sadness on her face and squeezed her hand on my leg
"I understand, take as much time as you need.
Footsteps approached and a flock of children entered the tent as Neytiri and I stood up. Lo'ak was talking to Spider and stopped when he saw me there with his mother.
"Hi, Kiri, Tuk we're going to make necklaces with the village children I was wondering if you wanted to join us" my gaze slowly left Lo'ak and turned to his sisters.
"I'm sorry, I'm tired" Kiri sighed and left while Tuk jumped and clapped her hands "Yes please".
"We can replace Kiri" Lo'ak spoke.
"It's for kids Lo'ak" I rolled my eyes.
"I mean did you get a good look at us?" he pointed between him and Spider who didn't speak but let himself get caught up in his bullshit "A little help wouldn't hurt you".
I kept my composure and looked at Neytiri next to me, "Okay, but make yourself small," I let out.
The boys and Tuk came out of the tent, Neytiri put her hand on my shoulder "Thank you, feel free to come and see me if you want to talk" she said before I left the tent and joined the others
I walked to the children's corner and the Sully's sat down among the other children even if many of them were afraid of Spider or others were curious.
" Calm down " I said, waving my hand to calm the children and then I sat down next to Tuk and we started to make necklaces. I took the thread and started to string the beads "Are you going to make a necklace for you?" I asked the little girl who was concentrating on stringing the beads, it was cute how she stuck her tongue out when she was focused.
"It's for my mom" she finally said as she managed to get the bead through.
I turned around to watch the two boys and to my surprise they were both very focused on their products. I finished my necklace and went to help the children who were having a little trouble with the knot to close it.
