You would be lying if you'd say living next to the ocean was the worst thing imaginable, the smell of fresh sea water & the chirping of all the living creatures who reside inside of it was enough to make any passerby fall in love with it. Nature worked in a weird way - you would pray to Eywa that each time you would be reborn, it would be by the ocean with your loved ones a mere Ilu ride away.

It was a usual day for a Navi in the Metkayina Clan. The clear sky sparkled against the water with a familiar warm sun beating down on you, a slight breeze being welcomed on your face as your braided hair flew behind your shoulders. Sitting behind your family's tent was somewhat a favourable past-time, feet dangling off the edge as the fish below swam in schools. You always wondered what it would be like to constantly be living in the ocean below, being one of the best in the tribe to hold your breath, you often found yourself relating more to the creatures below than your own clan members.

The sound of a loud horn being rung pulled you out of the daydream, footsteps and loud conversations of those in the nearby tents alerting you to a new presence down by the water. "Why was the horn rung?" You asked yourself, finally gaining the strength to pull your feet out of the water and standing up, watching as the clan members around you began to scatter to the beach.

It wasn't until you heard the loud screeches of Ikran that you knew the severity of what was about to happen. 5 of the beautiful creatures began to circle the village before settling down on the beach, the crowd of people becoming overwhelming and blocking your view of the 6 strangers. Politely, you began pushing your way through, once reaching the front of the clan, you were met with what appeared to be the father holding his hands flat as the rest walked behind him with caution.

You found yourself beginning to study the Navi from your position, taking note of each quirk they seemed to have.. Their tails were smaller than the Metkayina's and their skin bore a different hue; a darker one compared to your own sea-foam blue. Your brother and his friend were already walking around to investigate what looked like the two teenage boys, making comments about their different appearances much to the strangers dismay.

It wasn't long before your attention was drawn to the left, Tsireya gracefully appearing out of the sea and gaining the attention of one of the boys. He seemed to be of similar age as he watched her move, enthralled with her beauty much like the other village boys. As she made her way to your side, she smiled at you before looking back at the same boy again.

"How are they supposed to swim?" Roxto snickered from behind, the strangers tensing up at the comment as Tsireya turned around and hit his arm softly, scolding him for the comment.

"Roxto play nice, they aren't from here." You whispered in response, feeling a sense of remorse for the Navi in front of you.

It mustn't be easy leaving your home. You knew for a fact if you were in their position you wouldn't last a day away from home, the mere sight of the youngest child clinging to her mothers hand made it feel all the more real. One of the boys had caught your eye after you scolded Roxto, the slight warmth in his eyes as a way of thanking you as you sent him a small smile before looking away towards your sister.

It wasn't long before your father, the Olo'eyktan of the clan, arrived on his Skimwing. Dismounting it swiftly in the water, he made his way up to the beach and towards the family. The two fathers staring at each other before your mother made her way through the crowd, an unreadable expression on her face as she looked back and forth from her husband to the strangers in front of her. The father bowed, speaking with her as he announced they seek refuge.

As your mother walked around the family, you found yourself staring at one of the teenage boys. His eyes would follow your mothers every move, more concerned about what she was doing to his siblings than what his father was speaking of to your own. With the mention of 'Demon Blood' in the air, mixed reactions from the clan rang out, some taking a few steps backwards while others conversed loudly. It was only until the father stuck his hands out to show his own 5 fingers, explaining his previous life before becoming a Navi, his past as the Toruk Makto being bought up, something which spiked your interest.
