"What's your next class? I'll walk you to it" Willow offered.
Cole and Ryland had already started walking to there next class together after saying there goodbyes.
Lo again pulled out the crumpled piece of paper to read what was on it. "Language arts in room A10" Lo read aloud.
" Cool! That's right on the way to my next class" Willow exclaimed.
They began walking and Lo stirred in the thought of having to repeat the same steps of walking into a classroom with nobody she knew. She rehearsed having eyes on her their stares manifesting into lasers as they burn into every part of her body. Soon they where again standing in front of a door except this time with the glowing silver letters of room A10. Willow could feel Lo's nervousness radiating off of her pale skin. " Lo Don't be so nervous, you've got this plus we'll meet you for lunch I promise" Willow assured sympathetically.
Lo nodded before biting her lip and disappearing through the door not before giving Willow a wave goodbye. When she got into the class room again sets of eyes stared her down as she navigated the room to find an empty seat except this time, a dark haired curly headed boy with hazel ish green eyes smiled at her and gestured for her to sit down next to him. She was taken aback by the strange kind gesture and sat down nervously. The boy watched her every move and Lo could feel his eyes on her. The teacher an old ash haired woman that looked like she would crumble at the slightest gust of wind began lecturing. But all Lo could focus on was the boys eyes studying her. He whispered cutting the awkwardness she felt inside. "My names Timothee," he whispered towards her "What's yours."
Lo turned to meet the boys eyes, she studied his face sharp jawline and all. She couldn't help but to let a pink glow flush across her face, he was actually quite handsome. "My names Lonnie but people just call my Lo" she said a line she had rehearsed time and time again.
The boy let out a small smirk "pretty name for a pretty girl" he remarked.
Lo's face began to glow pinker and she could feel warmth fill her cheeks. She prayed he didn't notice but he most certainly had.
The teachers eyes shot towards Lo and Timothee, "Please save conversations for after class"she said firmly.
Her sternness mostly directed to the curly haired boy. "Yes Miss Anders" He smirked slyly.
Lo sunk into her chair, something told her this wasn't the first time he'd been scolded by a teacher before.
Class continued and they continued to exchange glances at each other. Although it was mostly Timothee sneaking a peek at her and awkwardly looking away when her eyes met his. Lo didn't know whether to feel amused or creeped out by the boy.
When class was dismissed Lo went to pack up her bag when she looked back up the curly headed boy was standing in front of her leaning against her desk. He smiled "Maybe we'll see each other around?" He questioned scratching the nape of his neck."We have the same class together" Lo responded bluntly
He tapped his fingers on her desk to a made up tune " Yeah I guess your right, but I mean outside of this prison cell" he looked around the dull class room.
"Yeah maybe" Lo said unsure of what the boys intentions were but slightly fascinated by the boy.
He walked out not before showing her his signature smirk and waving good bye.
She got up brushing the exchange off before excitedly pacing her way to the lunch room to see her friends remembering Willow said she would meet her for lunch. Before she could make it to the lunchroom Willow blocked her entrance " Were you really about to step foot in there," she pointed to the lunchroom a concerned look on her face."Uh yeah what's wrong with the lunch room?"Lo asked puzzlingly.
"Are you kidding girl, that place is a battle ground, all hormones and funk, you'd be the one on the menu for lunch if you stepped foot in there" she remarked " let me show you where the cool kids eat" she said sarcastically.
Willow grabbed Lo's hand as she rushed outside the cool air hitting each of there faces. Willow guided her to a huge tree in the school yard. You could tell the tree had been there for years watching decades of students come in and out of the school building. It clad a few leaves but was mostly bear as it was fall time. There under the tree sat Cole and Rylan spotting Willow and Lo across the school yard waving them over. Willow and Lo ran to meet them "This tree it's beautiful" Lo remarked her eyes gazing across its tree bark studying every part of it.
Willow smiled and nodded her head in agreement "You should see it with all of its leaves" she responded. They sat down next to Cole and Ryland, Cole shifted to face the group " Guys look" he said whilst unzipping his bag.
He pulled out a large bottle of wine, rosé to be exact.
Ryland and Willow snickered in excitement. Lo eyes widened, she had never tasted a drop of alcohol in her life. "Put that away Cole" Lo hissed looking around to see if anyone spotted the pink liquid.Willow Ryland and Cole erupted in laughter. "Lo have you ever been drunk before?" Cole questioned in between laughs. Lo's cheeks flushed with pink was she supposed to have been drunk before? She shook her head before burying her face in her hands as they continued to laugh. "Lo you have to try a little sip" Ryland pressured. Lo inched back unsure of the decision. " Not now of course we still have 2 more classes to go" Ryland followed up with.
"After school we are going to the forest right behind the school you don't have to drink but your welcome to join if you'd like Lo" Willow reassured her.
Lo nodded " I guess I'll tag along if you guys don't mind" Lo couldn't help but hide her curiosity despite her mothers words in the back of her mind replaying a lecture she had heard for what felt like a million times about drugs and peer pressure but it was slowly falling into obscurity.
