Darkness was the beginning as light was a mystery to the night. Hidden from the eyes were those that clanged to the comfort of the shadows. The undying heart in lust for that which holds life. Love blown in memory but tales thorn from sorrowful hearts. That which would have been but not and has been is still, the choices i make was chosen before me and for me the path which i must follow. Where then can i hide when the darkness is my disguise and which hunts me...

"You are mine " a shrieked voice called out from the alley. Bruce pulled out of his thoughts and leaped off the roof.

Hidden in the shadows he watched as a the man cornered the young woman with a knife in his hand. Her bag was lying on the floor behind them and the woman was driven with fear. Her blue eyes shaking as tears flooded them, she barely made a sound or tried to put up a fight as the man grabbed her forcefully tearing of her blouse and thusted her to the floor.

Just as she turned to look into the feared man's face, a large shadow grew from behind him. She saw a huge figure in black cloak grabbing the man. He could barely scream but stood still shaking as his eyes turned white and his face pale. It was like the man was being drained of his blood right before her eyes. Just as the body dropped lifeless, the shade was gone into thin air. She shivered at what she had witnessed waiting in shock for what would come next but all that was left was a deafing silence. Once she could put herself together again, she stood up as quickly as she could and ran off to the street, called a cab and went straight home. All that she could think of was what had just happened, she couldn't report what she had seen because she was frightened and did not expect anyone to take her story seriously.

She got home, locked herself inside and sat infront of the fireplace with a cup of coffee in her hands. Her hair turned gold at the reflection of the light emanating from the fire place. Just as she turned to look out the window, he caught a full glimpse of her face and there was non compared to her beauty. "Samantha" the name escaped in his breath as his eyes turned red and his body frost cold. It was as if he had seen a ghost from his past. As he thought to go closer, his watch gave a quick beep. He looked at it and faded into the night.
