Chapter 2: A Silent Night

Finished her dinner, Alma walk through the crowd, stopped at the quest board. Nothing good, just some goblin and hound hunting quest of course. Some difficult to hunt monsters are rare after all. Humanity would collapse if there is a dragon hunting quest everyday.

Since there is not any high income quest, Alma leaves to the exit and just a few step, a guild member comes rushing to the guild receptionist desk.
"Smells like money."
Mumbling and started humming, Alma walk into the guild receptionist.
"Anything I can be done with?"

The guild member stopped talking to the receptionist and stare at her.

"Nothing can't be done by me." Alma showing her guild plate, diamond rank.

"I-i think it would be better if we talk it out in the guild master's office now."

The guild member looks happier after knowing Alma's rank and proceed to the guild master's office in the second floor. Alma follows the man to the office.

Right before the man knocked the door, "Come in!".
They walk into the room and the guildmaster wtiting in his desk behind a thick stack of document. "Please have a seat, and of course you too Miss Alma."

A little winded, the guild member take a seat and started explaining.
"An unknown monster attacked the port city, Seasky, a-and literally erasing the city! I received the report that the survivor only in a few number! They said that the monster just stare and let some survivor fled, like it is intentionally let the world know about its existence."

Alma's eyes glimmers in excitement.
"Tell me more! How about its appearance! How can it is erased a city?"

The man look into Alma's eyes. " It is like a silhouette of a man like a black smoke. 1.8 meters high, bald, smiling widely showing its rotten teeth. Its eyes are white, no pupil and round, but you would still feel it is staring straight into your eyes."

Stopped for a moment and started to continue his report with trembling mouth, full of fear,

" The witnesses said that there was a scary sound that never heard before, like a combination of any kinds of animals gut being cut, like a dying wish, full of grief and anger. The sunny days turned dark like a moonless night. All dark. In that chaotic time, it is just standing there right in the middle of the town. Despite its strange, black and smoke like body, it is kind of glowing. They can not believe it themselves. In the next few second, everyone in the city started to float in the air and then sucked right into a single point, 10 meters above the monster. The sound of flesh collide, brains and bloods splatter around, the bones cracked forcedfully into a point leaving a pool of blood. The monter look above, at the human flesh ball and laugh in a high pitch noise. Strangely, only a few did not sucked, watching the horror sight in silence. The monster just raised its hands and the buildings, boat, road, any human made things vanished in a blink. It is just stare at them and suddenly dissapears. Like nothing happens! Just a facant land, like it is never touched by a single human before! One of a surviving guild member there then rushing to nearby village and send the report a few minutes ago using magic stone there."

"So it was happened yesterday." The guildmaster look at Alma."Can you please take this quest miss Alma? I would also gather the other individual to solve this."

"What should I do? How much are you going to pay me?"

"I will inform it later, just come at me at 7 a.m tomorrow. Are you in?"

"Count me in."
