Chapter 4: Bad Omen

The three of them step out of the portal. A sunny day, a windy grassland, just like the report. Chris step up and check the ground.

"This is truly incredible. No trace of magic."

"Yeah, it is really crazy. Everything I fell here is real."

"That's true. As what Alma says, it is too natural." Anne as confused as the others.

"Lets infestigate it further." Alma aggreing on what Chris has said.The three of them started to scatter around, searching for anything.

Chris goes to the shore, the former harbor of the city. As he goes around, he do not find anything notable. He keeps going around, hoping that he can find any clue.

Alma goes to the middle of the former city. She has been here. She recall the memories of having some fried squid. There is no stall, the crowd and the friendly greeting she usually had. She is quite upset. Going around just like Chris, nothing important.

Anne goes to the forest near the outskirt of the city. She close her eyes for a moment. A soft wind makes her beautiful silver hair waving around. Nothing can be found, if it is a human. Her long lifespan and the natural trait of her race can help her. She can fell it. She knows it. It is not only erased, the city just turned back in time. It is like getting rid of maggots in a rotten apple and make it fresh again! She rushed at Alma and shout.

"Alma! Where is Chris! We have to inform the guild ASAP!"

"Do you find anything?" Chrish rushing, almost flying because he jumps so far.

"Anne found something."

"Of course. Tell us."

"I can feel it, from the forest. It is like from the forest three hundred years ago!"

"I see, it is the first time I heard of a monster that can manipulate time. It is really insane if we have to face it here. Imagine what it can do to you. What about you Chris?"

"It is nearly impossible indeed. But It means that it can't manipulate time on human. The other is gravity I guess. I know some royal magicians that can manipulate gravitation but not in this huge radius."

"Alma, Chris, I felt something eerie."

Surprised, Chris look up to the sky.
"A moonless night in a day."

"Get ready! It can be near!" Alma and Chris unseathe their sword, Anne pull out an arrow, ready to shoot.

Here it is. A loud wailing. A sound that can be said from hell. A strong wind blows, like a sudden storm. A glowing shadowlike black creature standing in front of them. Just like in the description. It is just smiling at them.
