Hey y'all! First of all, I would like to apologize for not updating for like a month, idk what the fck I was doing for winter break, but right now it's a late night on a Thursday, and I have some coffee here next to me. Let's get this party started, shall we? Also, while I was writing this, I made some changes to chapter 1, so you may want to go back and see that. It's at the end of said chapter.

Third Person PoV

To say Artemis was surprised at the boy- no, male for wishing for death would be an understatement. Why would the only decent male want to end his life? He had a good girlfriend, a loving family and huge amount of power and popularity. So, she wondered, why? Why would Percy want to end his life with all these nice things at hand??

(Just for some context, none of the gods but Poseidon know what has been happening to Percy, and you'll see why soon enough. Oh also, any bracket that are bold are all authors notes. Happy reading!)

I wasn't the only one who was surprised as everyone in the room, except Poseidon for some reason. Even Dionysus looked at the boy with surprise.

"Why do you wish to die nephew?"

Now it was Percy's turn to look surprised as he looked up from the ground to look at Zeus with a surprised face while Zeus remained unfazed but faltered when he saw Percy's eyes.

They were cold, filled with sorrow and depression rather than the usual warmth and happiness that overcomes you when you gazed into his piercing bright sea green eyes which were now a musty, algae green.

Artemis PoV (Bet you didn't see that one coming, did you?)

"The reason I wish to die is because no one cares about me anymore. My da- sorry, Poseidon," the said God winced but kept listening. "Disowned me. My girlfriend left me. Everyone thinks I'm dirty scum because of crimes I never committed but was framed for by my own half-brother, leading to the downfall of my popularity, and all my friends have left me. I have no purpose in this world, so I should be taken out of it."

I was surprised by this, and all the gods turned towards Poseidon with a glare and Poseidon cowered and looked away, not wanting to bear the guilt.

"So, are you saying that if you have a purpose, you won't want to die?" my father asked. What was he thinking now?

Percy shrugged and said, "I guess so."

Daughter, I need you to let Percy be the hunt's guardian. My father mind messaged me.

What, father? I agree that Perseus is a good male and a great swordsman, but I will never allow him near my hunters. What if he does something inappropriate?

Percy is not that type of guy, and you know that. And besides, he lost his girlfriend hours earlier, you really think that he is going to flirt with your hunters in that state?

I looked over at Perseus and saw his broken state before relaying a message back to my father.

Fine, but he has to listen to me at all costs.

Father spoke up. "Then you shall join the Hunters of Artemis and be their guardian."

Percy, rather than going along with it, was panicked. "Does Artemis agree? I won't do it if Artemis doesn't agree, that is her personal group and you can't really control it considering Artemis was the founder, and she makes those types of decisions."

Yet again, I was surprised by how the boy talked about the situation. He asked if I agreed before deciding, which was another thing I liked about this male.

"Yes, I have agreed to it Perseus. Do you accept the offer?" I said.

He thought for a moment before nodding his head.
