Chapter 8

Chihiro had a hard time going to sleep that night her body was tired but her mind was wide awake, all in one day Haku returned to her and Chihiro returned to the spirit world and the cherry on top was that Haku was just as crazy about her that she was him.
Chihiro decided to stay up and begin reading the Cosmo's Lin had gotten for her. If Chihiro was going to Haku's girlfriend and likely his future wife she was going to the best partner she could be.

Chihiro had been reading for at least an hour when her eyes grew tired, she was briefly woken by the magazine falling on her face.

"Ok I've got to go to bed." Chihiro set the magazine down and got comfortable...

"Chihiro stay where I can see you." Her mother called as Chihiro scampered off towards the river bank before turning her attention to unpacking the cooler

" Okay." She wobbled a little since her shoe was untied

" Kohaku be a dear and keep an eye on her please." Suki brushed some hair out of his eyes

" You bet mom." Kohaku nods

" Thank you sweetie." She kissed his forehead

" You're welcome." He smiles before running after Chihiro "Stay away from the water." Kohaku grabbed Chihiro's arm as she was balancing on some rocks

" Ok Haku." Chihiro smiles something about him looked different, it was him but his hair was a deep ebony and was all one length and hung over his left eye but cut at the chin. His skin wasn't the creamy pale she was used to but a soft tan color. And his eyes were a honey color not a clear seafoam color.

" Kohaku it's Kohaku you know this." He rolls his eyes

" Yup yup." Chihiro kept balancing on the rocks

" Be careful." Kohaku tells her "You're going to fall Chihiro you need to tie your shoe."

" Nuh uh." She giggles

Chihiro felt her legs go out from under her and she heard a smack as her head hit the river bank.

" OWWW!" she cried

" Oh no you're such a baby." Kohaku complains "Are you okay?" He kneeled down checking her

" It hurts." She whines

" I bet it does." Kohaku sighs still checking her over " You're not bleeding but you'll probably have a bump on your head."

" I want my mommy." Chihiro sniffles

" Yeah yeah." Kohaku sighs

" Carry me." Chihiro holds out her arms

" I'm not carrying you, you can walk." Kohaku stood up

" No fair." She whines

" Shut up you brat." Kohaku snaps "Everytime my parents hang out with yours I have to babysit your spoiled butt." He yelled

Chihiro's eyes filled up with tears and started crying more

" Why are you being mean to me?" She cries

"Oh man." Kohaku holds his forehead "Have mercy."

" My shoe!" Chihiro called out seeing it going down the river

" It's just a shoe I'm sure your mom has more for you." Kohaku says

" No!" Chihiro went after the shoe as it was being taken down stream.
The earth gave out from under her and she was taken under water, Chihiro could feel all the air in her body disappear as she sunk.
Chihiro tried to keep her eyes open as her arms and legs went limp, but she could see an arm plunge in after her and then two arms held her tightly.

When the air hit Chihiro's lungs shook her making Chihiro cough.

" Chihiro oh my goodness are ok?" Her mother held her

" Mommy!" Chihiro clinged to her mom

" Kohaku?" Suki looked around
" Where's my Kohaku?"

" He was with Chihiro." Chihiro's Mon says looking down the river

" No no Kohaku!" His mom ran down the river bank

Chihiro shoot up out of her sleep in a cold sweat her heart beating against her chest.

" Oh no." Chihiro held her head "It was just a bad dream."

A light knock came to the door moments later.
" Chihiro?"

It was Haku

" Yeah?" She swallowed

" Just wanted to let you know breakfast is ready when you are." He says on the other side of the door

" Oh geez what time is it?" Chihiro asks looking at the windows but it still looked dark outside

" It's 6:49am." He tells her

" Oh okay I'll be right out."
