No one's POV

There were no further incidents following the engagement in the Indian Ocean, and eventually the Minerva and the Acatenango arrived at ZAFT's Mahamul Base, where they would resupply before the Minerva continued on its trip to Gibraltar.

The Acatenango would be returning to Carpentaria once its own resupply was completed. Currently, the hangar was a beehive of activity as preparations were made to their few mobile suits for the upcoming operations. It was sunset and currently Nhazul was the rear deck of the Minerva, sitting against the wall, looking at Sabre's maintenance log, eating a cheese stick.

Nhazul: ...

???: Thought I'd find you here.

Nhazul looked over and saw Athrun walking up to him, as he just returned looking at Sabre's maintenance log.

Nhazul: I would've thought you'd have all kinds of important stuff to do, being a member of FAITH and all. I'm surprised you have time to come look for little ol me.

Athrun just rolled his eyes, before speaking up, as he sat down next to Nhazul.

Athrun: You have a way of saying things that can really get on a person's nerves, you know?

Nhazul: So I've been told. Mostly by Luna.

Athrun: I see. But what's really bugging you. Are you upset about me coming back? Or maybe you didn't like it when I hit you.

Nhazul: I couldn't care regardless that you're back.

Nhazul then just gave Athrun a look.

Nhazul: ...-_-... But I don't think you would be in a good mood after someone walks up and just back hands you, now would you?

Athrun just chuckled.

Athrun: Fair.

Nhazul just sighed, putting down the maintenance log, before speaking up.

Nhazul: I'm just having a hard time understanding it and accepting your orders. There just doesn't seem to be a reason for you to even be here.

Athrun: Yeah, I can see your point. But is that the reason you won't follow my orders because you don't like me being here?

Nhazul: Not really.

Athrun: Or is it that you think you're always right, and whatever you don't agree with has to be some kind of mistake.

Nhazul just gave Athrun a look.

Nhazul: I'd appreciate if you don't put words in my mouth.

Athrun: Then explain that stunt you pulled in the Indian Ocean. Do you still believe what you did back there was the right thing to do?

Nhazul just thought back to his family before answering.

Nhazul: Yes, I do.

Hearing this, Athrun just sighed.

Athrun: You said that you lost your family on Onogoro Island in Orb.

Nhazul: They we're killed because of the Athhas false ideals that failed them.

Athrun: If you still want to believe that, I won't stop you. But is that when you came up with the idea? You know, you thought to yourself 'If only I had more power'."

Nhazul: ...

Athrun: Anyone who's ever wept because they felt weak or powerless has had those kinds of thoughts. I'm no different.

The two sat in awkward silence, before Athrun sighed, breaking it.

Athrun: I was fourteen years old when my mother was murdered.
