Ruby Lane put her books in her locker, sighing. She'd just finished her geometry class.. and had hated every second of it. She grabbed her metal lunch tin, which was decorated with flowers, She loved floral print, had for as long as she could remember. She walked outside, finding a table to sit and wait for her friends, the girls all shuffled outside and sat with their friend.
The girls where deep into conversation about a topic that was quite popular in their town: Sarah Fier. Ruby idlily glanced over the paper her friend brought, From when they where all around 4 or 5 years old, When Harry Rooker was killed.. He killed people though, and the guy was creepy to start with. Cassandra looked at the paper over Ruby's shoulder "I remember him a little.. The guy was the stuff of nightmares just to look at" she smirked. Ruby nodded "He used to hit on Mom after my Father left"
Everyone starred "Mary? Oh that poor woman didn't need that in her life, especially not then" One of Ruby's other friends Maria spoke up. Kimberly nodded "Agreed. Ya know. I saw him kill someone! He killed the neighbor, that's why we moved! He sniffed her neck when he was stabbing her.. What a freak."
Ruby's eyes where covered as a male voice spoke out "Guess who~" he laughed a little, the other girls gasped at the sight. Ruby's face lit into a smile "David!" she squealed as her best friend hugged her tightly from behind, uncovering her eyes. "Hey Butterfly!" he scooped her off her spot on the bench and twirled her in his arms before placing her down... Despite what you'd think.. This wasn't her boyfriend. Kim grabbed Ruby and pulled her away from the boy "Ruby. Are you stupid? That's David Goode. He's a Sunnyvaler."
The brunette rolled her eyes and walked back to David "What're you doing here?" she asked, almost worried that he was in trouble, But his smile grew huge "I convinced good old Pops to let me go to school here" He watched as the shorter females eyes sparkled and she smiled "Thats amazing! We get to be seniors together!" She hugged him but was yanked away by a large hand "Ruby. What The Fuck Are You Doing." Now this. This is her boyfriend. Robert.
Ruby choked up a little "Robby, this my friend.. from when I was kid, David" she smiled a little. The male rolled his eyes "Alright" his eyes trailed to the paper that had been discarded on the table. He laughed "You chicks talking about this freak again? Rooker was just a psycho. End of story" he rolled his eyes once more.. he did that a lot.
David shook his head "As if? Everyone knows it was the Witch, just like Humpty in '35, Barker in '22, Milton in '04" Ruby cut him off "Farmer of Death in 1890, and Pastor Miller in 1666" she finished. Robert laughed a little harder "Wow Rubes? that why your friends with him? Whatever. Come over after school will ya Lane?" he offered a smile, trying to be comforting, and kissed her quickly before walking back inside the school.
The bell rang and everyone started to head back in, Ruby sighed and gathered her things, She'd barley eaten, though she was sure her mom would have dinner done by the time she got home. David grabbed her hand and asked what her next class was, English, and apparently it was his too. The day when by in a Buzz.. Ruby had never been to her boyfriends house before, anxiety bubbled in her as she walked to her locker at the end of the day, putting everything in her bag and getting herself out those front doors.
She walked alone to Roberts house, Still anxious, As she rounded the corner of the street that lead to his place, she felt nauseous. A voice in her head whispered at her to turn around, a warning in her head. Yet, she ignored it, and stepped up onto the stoop. Knocking on the bright red door. Little did she know she'd regret this so very soon.
