Nyx sat with her back against the window of the bus, she kept her eyes closed as her head stung and gloves covered her hands. "Everything okay?" Danny asked, making both Ethan and Nyx look up, "Yeah. Why?" Ethan asked.
"You've checked your phone three times in the last five minutes and Nyx doesn't look that great." Danny said. Nyx glanced over to Ethan as the boy covered for both of them. "Just waiting on a message from his brother." Nyx said and Danny raised his eyebrows. "Anything important." He asked and Nyx and Ethan glanced at each other, "No. Nothing." Ethan said.
A few seats back from the teen Alpha, Stiles and Scott sat together going over vocab words. "Yo, Scotty." Stiles calls out, "Yo, Scotty, still with me?"
"Yeah, sorry. Uh, what's the word?" Scott asked Stiles sitting back up. "Anachronism." Stiles tells him. "Something that exists out of its normal time." Scott answers. "Nice."
"Okay, next word - 'incongruous'." Stiles says. "Um, can you use it in a sentence?" Scott asks. "Yes. Yes, I can. It's completely incongruous that we're sitting on a bus right now, on our way to some stupid cross country meet after what just happened - incongruous."
"Out of place, ridiculous, absurd." Scott says. "Perfect. Okay, next word. Um, Darach. Darach, it's a noun." Stiles looks up to see Scott staring at him. "Scott, we have to talk about it sometime, okay? And we're gonna be stuck in this thing for, like, five hours, so why not?"
Scott doesn't answer, instead he looks away. "Next word, 'intransigent'." Stiles says. "Stubborn, obstinate." Scott answers. The bus goes over a bump earning a groan from Scott as he holds onto his stomach.
"Oh, buddy, you okay?" Stiles asks Scott, "We shouldn't have come. I knew it, we shouldn't have come." Stiles tells him. "We had to." Scott says, groaning, "There's safety in numbers."
"Yeah, well, there's also death in numbers, okay? It's called a massacre or bloodbath, carnage, slaughter, butchery, wow that's-" Scott groaning gets the attention of Stiles. "All right, Scott, I'm going to tell Coach-"
"No. No, no, no." Scott grabs Stiles' arm. "I'm all right."
"Would you just let me see it?" Stiles asks Scott. "I'm okay." Scott says. "Just let me see it, okay?" Scott nods as Stiles leans over to see Scott's side scratched up and open. "Oh dude-" Stiles says. "I know it's bad, but it's because they're from an alpha. It'll take longer to heal." Scott tells them.
"Boyd and Isaac are fine though." Stiles says. "I can't believe he's dead. I can't believe Derek's dead." Scott says.

"Do you ever feel any amount of regret or idiocy for letting yourself fall in love with a girl who comes from generations of hunters?" Deucalion asked, making Scott look back to see Nyx and Deucalion standing there.
"Going down?" Deucalion asked as he pressed a button and Scott flicked his claws out making them both smile in amusement. "Come on, Scott put those away. I'd have to be blind, deaf, and a quadriplegic for you to be an actual threat, especially with my neice here. Or maybe you should take a chance?" Deucalion said as he turned to Scott.
