Lucy's POV

With that, I grabbed my pink and white striped rucksack and packed the necessities; a spare set of clothes, a sandwich, a few hundred Jewels and Imitatia (a blond haired doll with a blue dress that my mother gave me just before she died).

There was just one more thing I needed to get before I left so I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote a note to my father. Once I finished, I left it on my bed, grabbed my cloak and as quick as a fox, I jumped out of the window and made my way to the library. ( I imagined her looking a bit like the capes that Ultear and Meredy wore in the Grand Magic Games)

As I approached the large wooden doors, I pulled down the hood from my cloak and then took my first step inside. Even though I went there almost every day, I still stood in awe at the flawless layout of the shelves and the vast collection of books that patiently waited to be read. As I ran my fingers along the spines of the books, I stopped the tears which were pleading to come out. It made me sad that I would never see these books again, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

Turning around the corner, I suddenly stopped and I realized that one of the books was out of place. Slowly, I picked it up and stared at it with a puzzled expression.

It stood out to me because read all 4,298 books in this library and memorized them all. So why couldn't I remember this one? Had my father added the new books already?

I wiped away the blanket of dust that had clustered over the cover and read out the title. "Tempus Libre". I stared at it with even more curiosity then before. Tempus Liber. Book of time. It didn't look like a normal book with its golden writing and hard brown back. The corners where rounded and it was a slight glow. A million questions rushed through my head; where did it come from? Why couldn't I recognize it? Why am I so intrigued?

Somewhere, deep down in the depths of my mind, I knew that I was running out of time as my father would find the note any time now, and send his men after me, but I couldn't move. There was something in this book that made me forget about everything.

At that very moment, I heard the Library's doors burst open as a storm of men flooded through the doors. I quickly snapped out of the trance as I realized who they were. It shocked me that my father already found out. In fact, I was even a little bit surprised that he cared enough to even send one man after me, yet alone what seemed like an army.

I held the mysterious book close to my chest, pulled up the hood on my cloak and made my way to the second floor. Unfortunately, as I reached the top of the stairs, I stumbled and the book flew out of my hands. I jumped forwards to catch it and landed with a thud on the ground.

"Over there, on the second floor." I heard a deep voice call out, "It's Lady Lucy. Go get her!"

I turned around only to see a dozen men racing up these stairs. As one of them reached my shoulder, let out a scream. Still staring at the book, I noticed it shining and then a sudden explosion came from it. Everyone just stood dead still, as if they were frozen in time. Realizing that some people were suck in mid-air, it came to my mind that it wasn't as if they were frozen in time, they actually were.

My attention was drawn back to the book and I stared at the page which contained one sentence; to my precious daughter on her 16th birthday. "Mum?" I asked the book. I couldn't take it anymore and I finally turned on the waterworks. The teared ran down my cheeks and there was no way to stop them. I just sat there in a room of frozen people, crying my eyes out. It was then I realised how much I really missed her. "I just wish I could see you one last time" I whispered through the sobs.

I closed my eyes and continued to cry. After a couple of minutes, I was sure that I had run out of tears and allowed all the memories of her rush back into my mind.

As I did, the mysterious book I was still holding started to flicker through its blank pages and then shot out a bright beam. I jumped to my feet and stumbled away. What was happening? The light was a purple colour and it span around in circles looking for something. Making its way around the room, I walked up to it and stood in awe. It was shining and looked a lot like jelly, however, it was able to move around like an elegant swan and could float in mid-air. As it did, music as sweet as the last smile of sunset echoed through the room. I closed my eyes and stuck my hand out to touch it. As I did, I felt a warm glow inside of me and then nothing.

Opening one eye at the time, I noticed that the room was spinning round and round in circles, getting faster by the second. I let out a loud scream as the people in front of me started to disappear until I was the only one left in the room. It then became as cold as my father's heart and the room was covered in a fresh blanket of snow. I stood there shivering, only to notice that the walls were closing in on me. Still screaming, I took a large gulp of air and the walls suddenly vanished.

My mouth stopped producing noises and no matter how hard I tried, not a single peep was heard. I could feel my body being stretched and pulled in all directions, smell the blood as it oozed out of me and I could hear the silent whispers of lost souls which screamed my name. Was this the end?
