Lucy's POV
As if on cue, everything stopped at once and I was left in a pitch black room, with only a flicker of small light, hovering in the distance. I tried to make my way towards it, but no matter what I did, it would stay there, laughing at my feeble attempts to reach it. It was as if I was chasing the moon without a rocket. I closed my eyes and with one final push, I felt my body launch into the air; I was unstoppable and could feel all my worries being left on the empty floor behind.
After landing of ground, I stumbled back a few meters as I swore that I could hear her, my mother; I could smell her rose perfume and feel the gentle breeze as it blew through my hair. As I opened my eyes, I could see the home that I had grown up in; the home that had once been my sanctuary but was now my prison.
It felt like she was drifting in a dream, but it was different, I knew that this was real. Everything was so detailed and was exactly how I remembered it to be ten years ago. I turned around towards the mountain range. It was the same mountain range that marked the boundaries of my prison. When I turned back to the home, which now seemed strange and froing, I stood there in silence. Should I go in or should leave? Could I even leave in a world like this? I didn't have a chance to decide because when I blinked, my legs were already making their way towards its colossal doors.
Trying to guess how my father would react to my attempt to run away, I bumped into someone.
"I'm so sorry." I started as I helped picked up the books which she had dropped, "I wasn't looki-". I stopped myself there as I looked at her. Stumbling back onto my feet, I staring at her with my draw dropped. There, standing right in front of me, was my mother. She was exactly the same as I remembered her.
She was wearing a pastel pink and white dress, which came down to her ankles, and her hair was tied up in a neat bun with two strands falling down to frame her gentle face. I must have been staring at her for a few minutes before I noticed the little girl in a salmon dress standing next to her. She looked oddly familiar, but I couldn't remember where I had seen her before. I stood up looking at her with curiosity in my eyes, but then I remembered my mother was standing in front of me. What if she recognizes me? I pulled my hood up closer to my face, just to ensure that they couldn't see me.
"Are you alright?" my mother asked in her unforgettable soft voice.
Leyla's POV
"Are you alright?"
I tried to put on an innocent smile to the young girl who was staring at me with terror and confusion evident in her eyes. She wore a black and white cape that covered most of her body and pulled down the hood, so that only her chin and mouth were revealed. There were also a few loos strands of hair which fell down either side of her face. It was a golden colour, which shimmered in the sunlight and reminded me a lot of my daughters hair.
I gave her my hand to help her up, but she dodged out of the way.
"It's quite alright." I told her, "I'm not going to harm you". She then stared at me for a while longer, before finally allowing me to help her up. Still keeping her eyes on the ground, she apologized and ran away.
"Wait! You forgot your book." I tried to chase her, but gave up when I realized i wan't going to catch up.
"It's okay mummy. I'll take it to her." My daughter said in her sweet, precious voice. I gave her a kiss on the fore head and told her to be back soon, and with that, she sprinted off after the mysterious girl. I don't know what it was about her, but I somehow felt like I knew her.
Lucy's PVO
After what felt like forever, I accepted my mums hand and stood up.
"E-erm, yes. Everything is fine, thank you. I'm sorry for bumping into you." I managed to spit out before turning around and running away. Was that really her?
After running for a minute or two, my legs gave way and I fell to the ground with a thud. I decided to just lay there for a while as I allowed the questions to fill my brain. It couldn't have been her. She is dead. She died ten years ago. What happened? Where am I? Then, one more question came to me. When am I?
That's right! Wasn't it? I was certain that I had traveled back in time. It was the only logical explanation for any of it. Well, it was kind of logical. Wasn't it?
"Excuse me?" My train of thoughts was interrupted by a high pitched innocent voice. I looked up to see the little girl from before. "Here is your book."
How hadn't I realized that I dropped it? She passed it to me and gave me a cute smile.
"Thank you." I replied and smiled back, trying to hide the fact that I was freaking out. "What's your name?" I asked, in an attempt to figure out why she looked oddly familiar.
"Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia."
