It didn't come as a surprise to anyone that Kyung-mi punched Wook in the gut as soon as they were reunited later that day. He had barely raised his hand into the air to wave at her from across the street when she materialized in front of him and delivered a sharp jab to his side with as much force as she could muster.
Doubling over with an arm slung around his waist, the Jang male wheezed out, "What was that for?!"
"For dragging me to god-knows-where, leaving me with an ex-criminal for hours on end, stealing my attending maid, and having the audacity to laugh at my fear before you abandoned me," Kyung-mi listed off calmly while flexing her fingers and inspecting her reddened knuckles. "I would say more, but I doubt your pea-sized brain would understand the rest."
Wook straightened to raise a threatening finger at her but quickly doubled over again as a sharp pain shot up his side from the place where he had been hit. While mumbling curses at her in between quiet groans, he massaged his aching side and prayed for the pain to subside soon so that he could retaliate.
How can someone so weak deliver such powerful blows? he wondered, scowling up at the Choi lady. They must be mistaken to call this demon 'delicate'-there's no way she's as fragile as they all make her out to be. First she breaks my hand, then she claws at my arm like a madman, and now this? When will the torture end already?
Kyung-mi silently watched him struggle for a moment, expecting him to recover soon and begin spewing curses at her. When it became apparent that he would much rather continue whining about the minor injury than fight back, she clicked her tongue in disappointment and shifted her gaze elsewhere. Ever the dramatic man-child. Will he ever grow up?
"My Lady," Bomi called while moving to stand at her master's side, bowing her head in greeting, "I apologise for leaving my post-Young Master Jang required my company. I know that I should have consulted with you first before following him, but I didn't wish to disturb you."
"It's alright," Kyung-mi dismissed, "I don't blame you for leaving. Did you have fun at the market?"
Bomi shot the male beside them a look before answering, "As much fun as I could while accompanying Young Master Jang."
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? I'm a delight to have around!"
Ignoring Wook's offended gaze, Bomi focused on scanning over her master's appearance and promptly began to fuss, "Did your appointment go well, My Lady? Were there any interruptions? You mentioned an ex-criminal earlier-are you alright? You aren't hurt anywhere, are you? Should I investigate or tail anyone? And how are you feeling-any dizziness or discomfort? Should we return home soon, just to be safe? I wouldn't know where to find a doctor around here if you start feeling uncomfortable, so-"
"You worry too much, Bomi," Kyung-mi smiled at her, patting the maid's forearm reassuringly. "I'm alright-I feel rather refreshed, actually. Though I was stressed in the beginning-" she shot Wook a mild glare out of the corner of her eyes, "-I soon realised that Feng doesn't pose as much of a threat as I had thought he would. Turns out he's just awfully socially awkward and tends to glare a lot when he's nervous-he's far less intimidating when he smiles."
